Velvetwater Posted June 4, 2017 #329 Share Posted June 4, 2017 On our Panama Canal cruise back in 14 on the Carnival Legend there was a guy and his group of fans/friends etc who took over the piano bar pretty much every single night. They put hats/gadgets on all of the chairs around the piano so most cruisers thought there was a special thing going on. Our friends witnessed a couple come in early and move the hats to sit down have a drink before everyone arrived and got verbally told by an older lady (part of the group I imagine) that they were all there to see a dear friend and she should respect that and move. The amount of cruisers we heard that were upset about the situation saying that had been made to feel unwelcome when they tried to sit near the action...we don't care for the piano bar but a lot of people did and even though they could sit in the far away seats they felt a bit put out. dmdiver Posted June 4, 2017 #330 Share Posted June 4, 2017 Last year on Regal Princess, our group of 4 was standing at a railing overlooking a juggling act below. A woman pushed her way through us with a chair & proceeded to set it down in front of us so she could see the show. She never said a word, no excuse me, nothing. Mind you, we were at the railing & had to back up to keep her from putting the chair on our toes. Talk about rude! Same cruise, there was a man in the cigar bar with a Giants ball cap who had a bit much to drink. Our buddy had on a Cowboys shirt, so of course he had to come over & talk to us. No problem with friendly rivalry, but the guy proceeded to knock over my husband's beer with his flailing around. Saw him several times on that trip - maybe trying to get his money's worth out of the drink package? Another cruise (don't recall if it was RCCL or CC), but there was a group of people one night in their formal wear having a great time out on the pool deck. The next morning one of those guys asleep in a lounge chair, still in his formal attire. I had to chuckle - at least on a cruise ship it's not as dangerous to sleep in a public area. dreadpirate3 Posted June 4, 2017 #331 Share Posted June 4, 2017 During muster drill on Majesty, there was a young man assigned to our station that had obviously been using his drink package to the extreme. He could not stand still, and he was cat calling the young women walking to their stations, trying to drink his cocktail (no food or drinks at muster), and wanting to take selfies with the people in the muster station and the staff. The staff kept trying to get him to calm down, took his drink away, and made him stand in the group instead of out in the walk way. He made the muster drill about twice as long as it needed to be. Every time we saw him and one other young man, they were either too drunk to function or being sick in a public area.

Velvetwater Posted June 4, 2017 #333 Share Posted June 4, 2017 Another good example of chair hogs! You know, I never thought about it like that but you are right! The group were made up of very experienced Carnival cruisers (diamonds etc) so I am told lead by an apparently well known Carnival cruiser known for his silly hats who I won't name on here but people could probably guess. You would have thought that they would have known better.
littlebearcrewchief Posted June 4, 2017 #334 Share Posted June 4, 2017 People pushing to get on an elevator when there is clearly someone in a wheelchair/scooter waiting to get on. It frosts my cookies. As a person who uses a scooter I see it more than you can imagine.

Meadet Posted June 5, 2017 #337 Share Posted June 5, 2017 Regardless of the cause of the cough, people should still cover their mouth when they cough. That is just common courtesy. Pierlesscruisers Posted June 5, 2017 #343 Share Posted June 5, 2017 Excellent news it must be bad if Carnival have banned him. I saw a man get escorted off the Legend 2-3 weeks ago at 2pm. He couldn't have gotten on the ship earlier than 11:30am so he was on the ship for 2 1/2 hours at max. That may not be a record for the shortest time on a ship but it must be close! :o Tom

It may have been a personal matter or other non security matter, but he was not happy at all.

pris993 Posted June 30, 2017 #348 Share Posted June 30, 2017 The worse thing I have seen is small groups talking loudly and laughing as if they are on a private boat... no consideration for anyone else... annoying ... especially when it is in the buffet area... we seldom go there anyone as we like it more quiet...
