evandbob Posted May 17, 2017 #27 Share Posted May 17, 2017 A dollar machine will have a better payoff % than a quarter machine. And a $5 slot will have a higher payout % than a dollar slot. What kills me is when someone hits a jackpot payoff but they haven't played the max credits so they get zilch. They stare at the machine thinking it must be broken. sailingawaysoon Posted May 17, 2017 #29 Share Posted May 17, 2017 We love the Wheel of Fortune and any of the older triple 7 machines. We've hit many times and won big on the wheel and that was with and without the wheel bonus. Last cruise over New Year's we won $2k on the wheel. We've hit $1,000 many times and $1,500 a few times. Some of the older slot machines are fun. If we see one machine not doing well, we move around and just play others randomly. We always do the max bet. Hubby is in the players club and when we go back on our next cruise they are giving him $900 when we board (in the casino). People pick and choose their fun. We love the casino and spend a great deal of time in there. Win some and lose some, but it is all part of the cruise experience for us. Good luck! stevefrisco Posted May 17, 2017 #32 Share Posted May 17, 2017 (edited) Wow, a few snowflakes who don't gamble. Ok. Now I will await a few relevant answers from people who actually enjoy a little gambling for fun. If we felt we needed money to get by, gambling wouldn't be the first course of action, and if money was tight, we wouldn't pick that as our choice of fun. Also, if I thought my wife would "fall victim to the grip of intermittent reinforcement," she wouldn't be playing slots. There is a reason it's called gambling. But hey, thanks for your laughable responses, much appreciated! Get used to the snowflakes on here man, people seem to live on their high horses in this forum. I don't have much advice for the slots, but as a "card player" I would avoid the lower limit tables and play the $25 tables which actually offer 3/2 blackjack. It seems counter-intuitive but the Fun Ship 21 and double exposure blackjack actually have better payouts if you insist on playing the $5-10 min tables. I don't normally play roulette at land or river based casinos, but I enjoy the experience at sea for some reason, seems like I always get more play. They have low betting limits though. I think the max you could bet on a single number was $100 last cruise. If I'm up pretty good for the night at blackjack, I like to put a few hundred on 32 for 2-3 spins (and scream Not Guilty! for OJ when it hits) and try to hit a big score . Never been able to do that at sea so never had a 10K per session score. Edited May 17, 2017 by stevefrisco
stevefrisco Posted May 17, 2017 #33 Share Posted May 17, 2017 I'm a blackjack player myself....anyone know what the shoes are like? I think the $25 tables are 6 deck shoes. Funship 21 and double exposure are also shoe games.
Drrandall Posted May 17, 2017 #34 Share Posted May 17, 2017 Almost everyone I've talked to won on the first day. After that they are as tight as.......heck. I work in a casino so i talked to a lot of cruising gamblers. Not sure if they can really tighten machines. I like video poker. Seems to help your money last longer. I would go big or go home too. Just go to the Dollar machine. Drop $100. If you win you win. If not. Hit the pool. Most all great stories I have heard is on the first $20 or $40 bucks.
