dem1958 Posted June 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2017 Are there any reasonably priced hotels that have a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the cruise port or is that just expecting too much? Thanks in advance for any advice
CruiserBruce Posted June 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2017 Port/city? If you look down the board, transport options are covered extensively for each port in Florida. There are even many threads for going between cities, like Miami and Ft Lauderdale. There are some city/port pairs where hotels provide shuttles, but as we don't know what city or port you are asking about, we can't be specific. But some reading on the board will find these are most common in Ft Lauderdale. You will also see taxi works very well, and is the most cost effective in many of these ports, and Uber, where available, is even cheaper.

Thanks in advance for any advice We've stayed at Springhill Suites, Dania Beach several times. Free airport shuttle, free shuttle to the cruise terminal, free internet, free breakfast, walking distance to shops and restaurants. This hotel is not on a beach. hencar59 Posted June 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 2, 2017 We stayed at Sleep Inn, Dania Beach. Free shuttle from Airport to hotel. Then we took Uber from hotel to cruise port in Miami. Much cheaper than shuttle rides. Sent from my XT1254 using Forums mobile app
dem1958 Posted June 3, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted June 3, 2017 Sorry that was really stupid of me, we're leaving out of Port Everglades and flying into Fort Lauderdale Port/city? Ashland Posted June 3, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 3, 2017 Are there any reasonably priced hotels that have a shuttle from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the cruise port or is that just expecting too much? Thanks in advance for any advice We like Hyatt Place (use http://www.valuetrips.com to book) near 17th Street. They have a free breakfast and the shuttle from FLL to the hotel is $2.00 per room not per person. They do offer a shuttle from the hotel to Port Everglades for $7.00 per person...but it will be cheaper, easier and quicker to use a taxi.
JohninDC Posted June 3, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 3, 2017 Distances are not far and cabs are not expensive - I would not limit my hotel choice to those offering free shuttles. Taxi to most downtown/17th street area hotels from FLL will be about $15 (under $10 in Uber); same fare or less will get you to your ship the next day. http://www.sunny.org has lots of FLL area hotel and tourist info. DaveOKC Posted June 3, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 3, 2017 We've stayed at Springhill Suites, Dania Beach several times. Free airport shuttle, free shuttle to the cruise terminal, free internet, free breakfast, walking distance to shops and restaurants. This hotel is not on a beach. We also have stayed here several times and recommend it for a pre-cruise stay. The shuttles make the process easy, plus the hotel is nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. Limited shopping nearby (Kmart across the street and BJs wholesale club for wine (no membership needed for wine)). Immediate area dining is fast food (right at the corner) with family places (Red Lobster, TGIF, Dave & Busters) about 1/2 mile away.
shipgeeks Posted June 3, 2017 #9 Share Posted June 3, 2017 We like Extended Stay America on 17th Street. Free shuttle from the airport, inexpensive shuttle to the port. Very pleasant staff, nice room, good location, light breakfast included. Reasonable prices, and a discount if booked through AMAC (Association of Mature American Citizens).
