Checking luggage prior to cruise

Does anyone know if it's possible to arrive early in HNL, check our luggage with the ship and then go explore the city before final boarding? We're scheduled April 1 on Norwegian Wind leaving at 8PM. We're booking our own air since we're staying the week prior on the Big Island.

We haven't been to HNL for about 5-6 years and thought to spend the day in town if we don't have to hassle hauling luggage all over town:cool: This is our first time with NCL so we're not sure what procedures are.

Thanks for any info.....Maddi

Hi Maddie -

If you are flying with Aloha, Hawaiian, Continental or ATA you can use Baggagedirect.com, a fabulous service that will collect your bags and deliver them to the ship.

We used them when we had to check out of our post cruise hotel in Honolulu (after our PoAm ) with a checkout of noon and our flight didn't leave until 4pm. They picked up our bags, gave us our boarding passes (not applicable for you this time) we walked onto the plane with nothing!

Heaven! They also pickup and deliver to home and hotel.

Let me know if you want more info.

Aloha,

Laurel

yes. You can drop the bags with the porters at the port on embarkation day, then go explore the city. Lots of people do this.
