Charles4515 Posted June 12, 2017 #26 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Royal doesn't care if you have it or not. It's the port that may or may not want it. Would you rather the cruise line didn't cover that possibility? Correct, it is the port. And one of my friends forgot her photo ID at Nassau and was stopped by Bahamas security. She was delayed 20 minutes re boarding, they questioned her and also called the Royal Caribbean's security before they let her thru to the pier. reallyitsmema Posted June 12, 2017 #27 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Was not asked to present picture ID at either port last week (despite bringing it as instructed). They only wanted to see our sea passes (yes, the locals). Interesting, that was not the case when we sailed Oasis on the same itinerary last May. The person ahead of us in Cozumel could not find their ID and they were asked to move to the side to keep looking for it. Not sure what happened as they were not part of our group, so we just showed our IDs and went on our way.
Ocean Dancer Posted June 12, 2017 #28 Share Posted June 12, 2017 We've never been asked to show picture ID in above ports either, just St Maertin.
KuffMUp Posted June 14, 2017 #29 Share Posted June 14, 2017 OK. Read in the fake news this evening that our state is finally thinking of complying with the 2005 Real ID Act. The newspaper said that as of January 2018, your state issued drivers license will need to comply with the Real ID Act or you cannot travel domestically on airplanes!!! You must have a passport to travel on airplanes in the US! There are about half of the states that have complied. Oregon just passed a bill to try and comply but their "extension" expires in July and all Oregon travelers will need a passport to fly anywhere in the US. Plus Oregon didn't want to comply with the ID Act because the Federal Government wouldn't reimburse the state. Well, according to the bill, the traveler will have to specifically request the "Real ID Compliant DL" and then pay a higher price to get it. Thanks. I will just keep my passport and Global Entry card!
