Rare John&LaLa Posted June 16, 2017 #51 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Did you ask your TA to call and check if any are eligible?? I need to talk to her again. I asked about it on Wednesday, and she emailed me back that the WOW sail only affected one of my cruises. I did get $118 price reduction on that one. STANMELB Posted June 16, 2017 #52 Share Posted June 16, 2017 (edited) It sounds like these calls with OBC offers to pay early are being offered to those in a JS or higher, is that true? Not sure what classes were offered the extra OBC. We are in a Crown Loft. As previously stated, no Crown Lofts were left for our sailing when they gave us the $300 OBC for paying early. luckyinpa Posted June 16, 2017 Author #53 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Do you play in the Casino? Number is very close to Club Royale number. Maybe CR had an offer for you. We get the calls often. never been on royal but would be nice if they gave me a room so i could play in their casino
tamarac227 Posted June 16, 2017 #54 Share Posted June 16, 2017 I wish they would call me. lol I only wait because in my eyes that is when it is due. I think they are doing this to try to stop or deter people from holding cabins and then releasing when they payment needs to be made. I sure hope they do this for my sailing soon I did not book the Jr. Suite like I wanted and I have a balcony on Harmony for December. I want to upgrade but it is way too much right now because they only have a few left. Crossing my fingers more people back out or I get lucky with an upgrade fairy. :halo:
frank808 Posted June 16, 2017 #55 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Hope you get a call from one of the fairies. Have sailed on 20+ cruises with rci and have never been visited by the upgrade fairy or her couson the upsell fairy. Actually when i got this call from my TA i was hoping it was an upsell to the owners suite on our explorer cruise next week. There were 5 owners suites available. Got a little excited when TA said royal was inquiring about our upcoming cruise. My heart skipped a beat thinking "yes" finally got a fairy visit. Then reality hit when TA mentioned october cruises. Ho well that still was a great offer for obc. Sent from my SM-N910P using Tapatalk
Thorben-Hendrik Posted June 16, 2017 #56 Share Posted June 16, 2017 or maybe to tell you that your cruise is now a charter and you need to pick another sailing date....... lol!
Cuizer2 Posted June 16, 2017 #57 Share Posted June 16, 2017 I received 4 calls yesterday and every time I answered there was no one there. That is what happens to people who use automated dialers and then transfer the call if they don't get an answering machine. Well, my answering machine message is so short the think they got a real person. When I get home I get a lot of, "Hello, is anyone there?"

actuarian Posted June 16, 2017 #59 Share Posted June 16, 2017 I'm guessing $1 OBC is like 42 cents in land funds. Mostly true but there is one exception. Suppose you are on a 7-night cruise, 2 in a room, and have a $300 OBC. If you do not prepay your gratuities and you spend $111 or less on board, then $189 ($13.50 x 7 x 2) of your OBC will be applied to your automatic gratuities. That $189 ($231 if you are in a suite) is like cash; it costs Royal Caribbean the full $189 since they still have to distribute the gratuities. caseythegr Posted June 17, 2017 #60 Share Posted June 17, 2017 So many phone numbers are "spoofed" now that make them appear they are from a legit company. I would have to be able to call Royal myself and verify before handing over my credit card number. I am not too trusting of blind phone calls.....:D:D Me too! I would ask the caller to give me a number to call back. Then I would call RCCL and ask if it's legitimate and have them help me.
Retired LEO Posted June 17, 2017 #61 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Maybe there is a great sale coming up and they want final payments in so those people can't take advantage of the better pricing! Here's for wishful thinking lol. Making final payments early doesn't change the final payment date.
Maraprince Posted June 17, 2017 #62 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Received call yesterday' date=' they were offering $100 OBC if we paid our October cruise off now...[/quote'] Booked through a TA and my final payment for my Oct. 2017 sailing is due by 6/30. Confused about paying early. MARAPRINCE
Rare island lady Posted June 17, 2017 #63 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Call them back and ask them what they were calling about. I did that once, and the agent at the D+ desk had absolutely no idea. Nothing in the notes in my file.

kmorg1234 Posted June 18, 2017 #67 Share Posted June 18, 2017 It's our October cruise on Harmony' date=' currently in junior suite. They said they are short on cabins and want to be sure that guests are actually going and not just hiding cabins only to release them.[/quote'] My guess is that this is it- they are trying to flush out the folks just tying up the cabins. With any luck, their IT dept is coming up with an algorithm to detect the type of reservation most likely to fit this profile.:(:o Not likely, but one can fantasize! Maraprince Posted June 18, 2017 #75 Share Posted June 18, 2017 Just found out that the early payment OBC only applies to RCL Visa card holders...nothing to do with the type of cabin booked. MARAPRINCE
