jez1967 Posted July 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 1, 2017 I am cruising solo on the Coral to Alaska in August. Am I able to do the Chef's table as a solo diner or do they require you to be a couple to make a reservation? Also I don't really drink wine and instead enjoy beer with my meals. I have heard you can opt out of the wine pairing for a reduced cost...is this true? I am fine to eat without having any beer but curious if it is possible to order drinks with the meal that are not included in the set beverage menu. Thanks as always for any info. I've seen solo cruisers at our CTs & the pricing is per person & not per couple. Non married couples each receive a signed cookbook & a photo which is one per married couple. Not that we need 2 of the cookbooks but it's an example that solo passengers can go to the CT. On the Coral the CT is $95 and if not drinking alcohol it's $75. I've never seen anyone having anything other than champagne during the galley tour & wine with the meal. You could ask onboard if other types of alcoholic drinks are an option but that's doubtful to me. Even if it was possible for any passenger you're experience could be different. They may give staff some discretion however that can vary depending upon what the maître d' wants to do.

JF - retired RRT Posted July 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 2, 2017 On the Coral the CT is $95 and if not drinking alcohol it's $75. We did the Chef's Table on the Crown last Nov/Dec and I'm pretty sure we paid $85pp for the no wine option.

Treven Posted July 4, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 4, 2017 I did the Chefs Table as a solo traveler; didn't have a bit of a problem, other than the $95 price tag:D. Seriously though, as a once in a while indulgence, the cost isn't outlandish.
NavyVeteran Posted July 5, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 5, 2017 DW and I were on a cruise, and she wasn't interested in the Chef's Table. However I was. So I signed up and went by myself, and she ate by herself without me. There is absolutely no problem going as a single.
