Hello

Will be staying 1 night before a cruise. Any thoughts on the following hotels:

Riverside Hotel

Residence Inn by Marriott Fort Lauderdale Intracoastal

Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Airport/Cruise Port

Thank you

We have stayed at that Hyatt Place several times and really enjoy it. Very nice staff, good hotel (large rooms), free good breakfast, free (or minimal cost) shuttle from the airport, close to good shopping (Total Wine and Publix supermarket) for cruise items, and lots of dining options nearby. Close to pier, so taxi/Uber is under $15, or you can take the hotel shuttle for $8 pp. Also, if you have time, you can take the Sun Trolley (in front of Publix) to the beach or just a scenic ride for $1 or 2.

You will find that LOTS of cruisers stay here.

Riverside is on a pretty street lined with shops and restaurants. It's only a couple blocks from a water taxi stop. A nice way to see the area and stop at other restaurants. The hotel has an old Florida atmosphere.

Hyatt Place sits on a busy street, which doesn't have a very Florida feel. But is indeed a popular area for cruisers. Just depends on what you like.

Residence Inn Il Lugano is the nicest of the 3 and is waterfront. There are several dining choices within walking distance.

Riverside is nice and is in the best location for dining and strolling downtown. It is the closest of the 3 to the port.

Hyatt Place Airport/Cruiseport is in Dania, across the street from a discount shopping center (Oakwood Plaza) with chain restaurants. It is not the same Hyatt Place that people are commenting about, which is in Fort Lauderdale near the port.
