Unlikely the app will be ready for Serenade by Feb.

 

It is showing the next two serenade sailings. Showing ports and daily events. Nice app. Would be so much nicer with messaging.

Available on Serenade with the v1.3 update about a week ago. But, the texting functionality will likely take several months.

V 1.6 added Symphony - though no sailings showing. It will be interesting to see if Symphony will also have Royal IQ.

Just called Royal Caribbean and they said that the Symphony of the Seas will have the Royal IQ app, fyi.

^ seems the app developers had a bad day - V 1.6.1 came out yesterday and removed Symphony. Also, Serenade doesn't have the current sailing listed.

Interesting to see that every Flowrider session is listed as $69 and needing a reservation. Lots of good info overall, though I have found a bug already - location of ship and Nav marker don't match on the map.

RCI is sometimes confusing - I was just listing what the app showed. Sometimes one has to use the info in the app in conjunction with info from here to get to the real facts.

No real functionality upgrades since inception -just ships being added. The x-ray vision thing added with the addition of Symphony yesterday might be something new.

 

The app is a very good reference to answer lots of questions being asked on CC - all the way down to pricing details (and menu) in Chops per ship.

It will be interesting to get feedback on the menu pricing function to see how accurately the app prices match the ship prices.

Not sure one can assume the app gets its prices from the ship or if Miami dictates the prices and so it's easier to integrate that to the app (which could still be changed by the ship). That's the diff with Royal IQ so far - Royal IQ seemed to be much more integrated on the ship and assume with its data.

The addition of Symphony seems to have extended the number of sailings available in the app. While in the past the app usually showed sailings about two weeks out, Allure and Symphony now show sailings for the next two months.

That's what RCI says - the only issue seems to speed at which new ships and features are being added. Not sure what it will mean if Symphony has both apps (it would be the only ship to do so).

Seems RCI is so far behind in technology. Nice to see the website getting a facelift, yet many features that were there are now gone. Hope they catch up.

Royal IQ (launched in 2014) available for Quantum, Anthem, Ovation and Harmony.

 

RCI Smartphone app (launched in 2017) currently available for Allure, Oasis, Serenade, Enchantment and Symphony.

 

Maybe there's a theme going on? The new website has less features and the new app has less features although it promises to have lots more functionality and be fleetwide by the end of 2019.

The RCI CSRs seem to insist that Symphony will have Royal IQ as well - we'll know by this weekend.

The latest RCI Smartphone app update suggests several new functions for Symphony:

 

-Access to improved guest accounts

-Can make reservations for specialty dining restaurants

-May now take advantage of the app’s online check-in functionality

I looked at a couple of sailings and could not find how to do any of that. Maybe the functionality somehow changes on the ship.

A bit weird that entering the app a few hours later, the app now asks for a login- with that addition the previous features may be available to those on a specific sailing

I just opened it, signed in, ask for my reservation(Oasis 10/27) said too far out try again at a closer date. before it was updated it would only show the current & next 2 sailing for select ships which I think were Enchantment, Serenade, Allure & Oasis.
