Oakman Posted August 17, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2017 Just checked the rates for the new dates for the Paradise to Cuba from Tampa. Noticed that they now have a price for a Balcony cabin. In the past, this has always appeared as N/A, since the Paradise has no balconies other than in the Suite categories. Are they adding balconies during a dry dock like several other Fantasy class vessels?
Rare Essiesmom Posted August 17, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2017 Seems to be...She has a long drydock Feb. 22-Mar 25 next year. Might be an indication these ships are not leaving the fleet any time soon. EM
The4Cruisers Posted August 18, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2017 Excellent!!! Long live the Fantasy class ships. They are still my favorites.
robear14 Posted August 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2017 I've been eyeing that particular cruise too and noticed the same thing. What's interesting though is that if you check the itineraries after the ship comes out of drydock, the balconies don't appear to be available until after it has done a few more sailings. Maybe they're planning on working on them after drydock? You also are not given the option to choose your own balcony for the sailings when the balconies are available. MNelson486 Posted August 27, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2017 I am on an earlier cruise after Dry dock -- any idea where these new balconies are going to be?
thephantomsgirl Posted August 30, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 30, 2017 I saw that too. I'm interested in the 8 day Cuba. Notice one cannot select a particular cabin for balconies.
poz222 Posted August 30, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 30, 2017 They are doing the modifications similar to the sensation where balconies were added. The long drydock is formthe steel and structural work on these cabins... they give a buffer of a few cruises for the finishing touches, interiors and for the necessary certifications on those cabins (safety, class etc...) which are done after ship,is in service.
