WHAT TIME WERE YOU ABLE TO GET OFF THE SHIP CARRYING YOUR OWN LUGGAGE? iS A 10:30 FLIGHT HOME FROM TAMPA AIRPORT DOABLE?

Tampa airport is only fifteen minutes from the port, but I would recommend (as for any cruise) not booking a flight out before 11:00 or so. You could do 10:30 but why rush?

Because airline schedules aren't what they use to be. So many time the only choices are too early, or wait till 5pm.

Are there available taxis there, or do you need to call for one

Just got off Saturday. We were in line to walk of at 7 am and line started moving at 7:15. We drove but we were in our car and on our way by 7:40

There are plenty of taxis waiting at the pier. Baring something horrible that flight is very doable.

Anyone knoe if they have added Global Entry to Tampa?

Was on the ship last month. Loved the Ship and Loved the Crew. (Forgot how nice it is to sail on a smaller ship) You'll have a great time.

 

My flight was at 10:15. Walked off at 7:15 and was in a Lyft by 7:30ish And at the airport at 8.

We were on the Empress last month. Got off the ship very quickly but no Global Entry.

TPA airport is also fairly quick to get to gate...they recommend arrival 90 mins ahead. Unlike Orlando that suggests 3 hours.

10:30 is fine unless there is a delay at port. There are plenty of stories of customs delays. Also Tampa is notorious for fog - when foggy ships cannot enter the port. Take the later flight and save yourself the potential stress. Enjoy the city for a few hours.

Port of Tampa generally only has a fog issue in late winter and early spring. Very low chance of fog the rest of the year.
