firemanbobswife Posted September 8, 2017 #752 Share Posted September 8, 2017 Taking the Paradise out of Tampa on 9/11. Delta canceled our Sunday noon flight into TPA. We changed it to JAX arriving at 11:20, then renting a car to drove to TPA (always like getting to port a day early). I'm surprised how negative people are about how CCL is handling things. I see no problem with a Monday departure from TPA. Looking forward to our B2B2B on the Paradise! Doesn't sound like a wise idea and I would stay put. I highly doubt the cruise is happening. alchemy girl Posted September 8, 2017 #755 Share Posted September 8, 2017 I hope you have evacuated! Stay safe! Thanks. Just finished boarding up and am out the door. The traffic is bumper to bumper heading north. The problem with a hurricane is if you survive the storm you then have to live without electricity, water, cell phone, cable, internet for up to several weeks depending on the damage. Not fun.....On a good note this is the first time in 13 years that I have had to evacuate for a storm. Used to live in Maine and I will take hurricanes any day over blizzards. Just re booked our trip on the magic that was suppose to depart tomorrow and will go on the Halloween trip on the 28th. It was a very smooth process. I think Carnival has done a great job and I would not want to be in their war room trying to figure all of these cruise and ports out.

No one wants this to impact their vacation or home, but...really? Sent from my iPhone using Forums just a small comment - Katia will affect Mexico, north east section above the Yucatan and below Texas. No where near Central America which consists of Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Belize, Guatamala and Honduras. Even more technical, Mexico is actually in North America, same as the USA and Canada. The eartquake was in the Pacific Ocean off Mexico's southwest coast, technically North America.

Not sure where in FL you are but some friends of mine left Disney yesterday. Orlando to Chattanooga TN took them just under 20 hours. “All hotels booked up between Orlando and Chattanooga. It looks like the apocalypse out here... thousands of people lined up on the sides of the interstate. At least 200-300 cars at every truck stop or gas station that still has gas." bUU Posted September 8, 2017 #769 Share Posted September 8, 2017 People should check hotels that are more than a mile from the highway. There are a dozen hotels here that have availability tonight and through the weekend. We're about 10 miles from I-75 between Atlanta and Chattanooga.
