tourismtessy Posted September 3, 2017 #28 Share Posted September 3, 2017 Great pictures! We did the British Isles Cruise two years ago in May and it was our favorite cruise too! Loved every port and really fell in love with Scotland. I could easily do a back to back on this itinerary because of the port intensive nature of it. So much to see and do in each port. FishinChris Posted September 4, 2017 Author #29 Share Posted September 4, 2017 We used the Princess transfer from the Victoria Coach Station to get to the ship. British Isle 2017-408.jpg Sailing away. British Isle 2017-435.jpg We arrived in Guernsey early before most of the people came ashore. We had no problem getting onto one of the early tenders even though we didn’t have a Princess excursion booked. untitled shoot-281.jpg The harbor. British Isle 2017-008.jpg Castle Cornet Lighthouse. FishinChris Posted September 4, 2017 Author #30 Share Posted September 4, 2017 Castle Cornet. We had this mostly to ourselves being early off the ship. British Isle 2017-038.jpg We booked a photography tour with Guernsey Photo Tours. http://www.guernseyphototours.com/ Our guide Mark was extremely knowledgable about the history of the island and had very good photography tips on this tour. Highly recommend. The rest of our Guernsey pictures were all taken on this tour. FishinChris Posted September 4, 2017 Author #32 Share Posted September 4, 2017 Cruising into Cobh is very scenic. untitled shoot-478.jpg British Isle 2017-160.jpg British Isle 2017-172.jpg Our chariots await. We had booked the cruise excursion tour with Paddwagon Tours. https://www.paddywagontours.com/Shore-Excursion-For-Cruise-Ship-Passengers-In-Cork-Blarney-Kinsale-and-Cork-City-Tour They did a decent job in taking us around and letting us decide how we wanted to spend our time at the sites. We were late getting into port so our schedule was adjusted, Paddywagon Tours did fine with this. There never really is enough time. untitled shoot-532.jpg Our first stop was at Charles Fort. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Fort_(Ireland) We had 10 minutes to get off the bus and snap a couple of photos. I think I would have wanted to spend more time here then walking around the shops on Kinsale. British Isle 2017-218.jpg
FishinChris Posted September 4, 2017 Author #33 Share Posted September 4, 2017 British Isle 2017-219.jpg Our next stop was Kinsale for a lunch break and wandering. FishinChris Posted September 5, 2017 Author #35 Share Posted September 5, 2017 We arrived at Blarney Castle in the afternoon. We had around 90 minutes to do what we wanted. Since the wait to kiss the Blarney stone was an hour we chose to walk the grounds which were fabulous. British Isle 2017-269.jpg untitled shoot-635.jpg I get a little artsy with my photos so bear with me. FishinChris Posted September 6, 2017 Author #40 Share Posted September 6, 2017 The streets of Dublin were definitely entertaining. British Isle 2017-424.jpg Lots of great architecture also. British Isle 2017-429.jpg Ne’er do wells might be here. British Isle 2017-443.jpg I’ve really been into street photography lately but you can probably tell. British Isle 2017-445-Edit.jpg Our first day in Dublin was on a Sunday and I was wondering what ever will we do. Lucky for us we found rural pub tours to save the day. https://ruraltours.ie/ We met Shane with Rural Pub Tours and off we went on our liquid adventure. First stop was the Merry Ploughboy Pub. FishinChris Posted September 6, 2017 Author #42 Share Posted September 6, 2017 Last stop on the pub tour was Jonnie Fox’s, Irelands highest pub. untitled shoot-839.jpg They also had live music. British Isle 2017-487.jpg Everyone was having a great time at all the pubs. Highly recommend Rural Pub Tours if it tickles your fancy or your just really thirsty. British Isle 2017-489.jpg Once our pub tour ended we had 1 more pub to go. http://irishfolktours.com/ We booked the Food, Folklore, and Fairies dinner at the Brazen Head Pub. British Isle 2017-491.jpg The Dinner Theatre was held above the Brazen Head and I believe it may have been all Cruise Critic members. It was well worth going to if you have the time. decamp303 Posted September 7, 2017 #49 Share Posted September 7, 2017 Love, love, love your photographic eye! Looking forward to more pics and taking this cruise next May.
jcruizer Posted September 7, 2017 #50 Share Posted September 7, 2017 It is definitely the photographer's eye that is important but from my experience a good camera helps. Sometimes photoshop as well :) I would love to know what camera you are using as well. Recommendations are good.
