grandmarnnurse Posted September 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 8, 2017 Thanks! Now I hope hotels in the area will be up and running by the time my daughter cruises out of Galveston in February. I'm sure they've all recieved extensive damage from flooding, and not sure when they will be ready. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Bruner1 Posted September 9, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 9, 2017 I'm not 100% sure, but I don't believe any of the hotels in Galveston were effected by the storm. Many of them are being used for temporary housing for evacuees from the surrounding areas that received more damage than Galveston.

You are correct, I live about 15 minutes from the cruise terminal and 20 minutes from the Seawall and beach. We got lot of rain and wind, but not anywhere close to what Houston got. I have been into Galveston several times after Harvey and all the roads are clear and cannot even tell a storm came thru. None of the hotels were flooded that I have heard about. All is back to normal.
