Replacement ports starting to be input

There was an article in the paper today saying carnival wont be going to San Juan, Grand Turk, St Thomas, St Martin anytime soon.
Yes, but there is an open question about what that means for each of those ports, individually. Each one is effecting recovery separately from each other and will likely be sufficiently recovered at different times, one from the other. Indications are that St. Maarten is the worst of those four and will be bypassed for a lot longer than the rest, though San Juan is still a big question mark. Unfortunately, it is probably in the best interest of the ports and the cruise lines to keep an optimistic tenor to their sharing of information about the relative times for recovery, so the media can only provide vague speculation. It could very well be that the "best" info we have is, "It'll be a bit longer," and that gets repeated pushing the date out further and further but just a bit at a time.
