georgiB Posted September 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2017 I read somewhere that they provide shampoo and conditioner but do they also provide a hair dryer? I would rather not have to pack my hair dryer if I don’t need to. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
wemjam Posted September 28, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2017 There is shampoo and body wash only. And quite frankly neither are very good and very drying on skin and hair. Always bring my own. Blow dryer is dependent upon the ship you cruise on. Carnival's website will tell you which ships have what you are looking for.
Blondie419ag Posted September 28, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 28, 2017 (edited) They do provide a hairdryer. Some of them are rather old and small, but there's always been one in the room. Or I've read if there isn't one in the room you can request one. Edited September 28, 2017 by Blondie419ag

evandbob Posted September 28, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 28, 2017 Hair Dryers are provided on most ships. They are also one of the most bacteria laden utensil on board, just under the buffet tongs and the slot machine handles/buttons levels of contamination. I've ALWAYS had a dryer in my room. That's odd
h_blond2 Posted September 29, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 29, 2017 It has been my experience that the hair dryers that are provided are not very powerful and take forever to dry my thick hair. I always bring my own. There is no conditioner in the room and I bring my own shampoo. I do like the body wash.
bobsfamily Posted September 29, 2017 #9 Share Posted September 29, 2017 A bed, place to shower, toilet and sink... Oh and a door to keep other people out! I hear interior cabins have to choose between the door and the toilet!

I always bring my own. There is no conditioner in the room and I bring my own shampoo. I do like the body wash. I agree they are not that great. I bought a nice small travel size hair dryer years ago that packs easily and it was pretty inexpensive, and it is as just about as powerful as my full size one - and way better than any I have seen on the cruise ships and most hotels. This is coming from someone with a super thick head of long hair lol!
dmdiver Posted September 29, 2017 #12 Share Posted September 29, 2017 The hair dryer works fine for my long fine hair, but my daughter takes her own, as she has rather thick long hair. Every ship I've been on has had hair dryers in the drawer of the desk. Our Elation cabin was an interior, and it had one back in 2004. I bring my own shampoo & conditioner for color-treated hair. Only shower gel, shampoo & bar soap is provided.

dmdiver Posted September 29, 2017 #16 Share Posted September 29, 2017 I've heard people that are concerned about germs talk of taking lysol wipes on vacation. I've never done it, but apparently some do. I always thought it was the tv remotes that had the most germs. I never even thought of the hair dryer. Fortunately I haven't contracted any weird virus or bacteria so far.

I even put some on the re-spin or max hit button before losing my shirt.
cb at sea Posted September 29, 2017 #18 Share Posted September 29, 2017 Bring the hair dryer you like...the ones provided do NOT blow at all..they get hot, but that's not the point of "blow drying"...you need the blowing action! Bring what works for you! Same with shampoo and conditioner.
georgiB Posted September 29, 2017 Author #19 Share Posted September 29, 2017 Thank you for the advice I was hoping I didn’t have to bring my blow dryer but I think I will. Actually I have a travel one so it’s not that large. Yes I’m going to bring my own shampoo and conditioner. Great advice again thank you
