Rare little britain Posted October 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 2, 2017 I'm flying into FLL (it was much cheaper than flying into MIA) but my cruise leaves from Miami. I will be hiring a car for a few days (Sawgrass shopping!!) but wondered whether to keep the car and drive down to Miami and drop it off at the port (is there a company at the port) or whether to drop the car back in FLL and then Uber or shared shuttle down. Solo traveller. Suggestions welcomed! TIA.
BNBR Posted October 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 2, 2017 Uber would be $30 or so from FLL to Miami. I think it would be easiest to just drop it back off in FLL and Uber to the port. That's what I would do.
Rare Keith1010 Posted October 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 2, 2017 I would go with Uber. Very easy to use and many of the drivers also drive for companies providing private vehicles. Keith
daniny Posted October 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 3, 2017 We always use Jiffy Jeff Transportation for these types of transfers. Great customer service and friendly drivers. Highly recommend. http://www.gojiffyjeff.com
Rare little britain Posted October 4, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted October 4, 2017 Thanks for replies. I'll leave the car in FLL! FYI I recommended www.gojiffyjeff.com to a friend and when she contacted them they quoted over $150 for the trip?? As Uber is about to be banned now in London I'll enjoy the novelty of using them in the USA!
JohninDC Posted October 8, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 8, 2017 Uber FLL to POM should be close to $36+tip. Since you are already renting the car I would check to see if there are any extra charges for dropping it in Miami. Uber from downtown rental lots to POM us under $10 and ever from MIA airport is about $
shuyak Posted October 10, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 10, 2017 Consider one way rental to pick up from FLL, drop off at MIA, and take the free shuttle provided by the rental car company to POM.

MAJPLO Posted October 16, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 16, 2017 We used Uber from FLL to our hotel in Miami for under $40. We used jiffy Jeff for return from port to FLL for $60 plus driver tip and if I had it to do over again I would not do jiffy again. Bluenoser47 Posted October 21, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 21, 2017 We used Uber from FLL to our hotel in Miami for under $40. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Which hotel did you stay at.? We are also flying in and out of FLL Currently looking for hotel. Also did it have a shuttle to the port?
JohninDC Posted October 21, 2017 #13 Share Posted October 21, 2017 Only hotels out near the MIA airport offer "free" shuttles to POM - not exactly an attractive area to stay. You can use Uber/Lyft to get from FLL to your downtown Miami hotel (lots of dining/nightlife options) and then cab/Uber to POM the next morning. Or stay in the FLL area (http://www.sunny.org has lots of FLL area hotel and tourist info) and then shuttle/Uber to POM the morning of your cruise. Your call! Have a great cruise!
