ryano Posted October 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 2, 2017 One week from today I will be having dinner in the steakhouse on Magic! Love the menu additions :)
JohnSpo Posted October 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 2, 2017 I will miss the cheesecake. The chimichurri sauce looks like a nice add. Overall a good menu update. I look forward to trying it.

mdsgu Posted October 2, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 2, 2017 Hmm, no snails for an appetizer. I'm sure I can cheer myself up with the beef tartare or pork belly! Looks delicious.
JohnSpo Posted October 2, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 2, 2017 The creamed spinach is also off the menu. Looks like it was replaced with the Rapini side. I had to look up what is Rapini and it is a green vegetable similar to broccoli raab.
bury me at sea Posted October 2, 2017 #8 Share Posted October 2, 2017 I hate that the Beef Carpaccio and the escargot were eliminated from the appetizers. The Beef Tartare and the pork belly are welcome additions, especially if the pork belly is reminiscent of that served on the Chef's Table.
wbc12345 Posted October 2, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 2, 2017 I don't enjoy chocolate, so the removal of the cheesecake is really disappointing. It was one of the few desserts I enjoyed on board. Although, if I'm being honest, not much dessert was ever eaten at the steakhouse after the huge meal.
Samanthamelody3 Posted October 2, 2017 #10 Share Posted October 2, 2017 Are you limited in how much you order? The appy's look great, and I'm sure I'd like to try a couple!
bury me at sea Posted October 2, 2017 #11 Share Posted October 2, 2017 Although, if I'm being honest, not much dessert was ever eaten at the steakhouse after the huge meal. LOL. That's why I didn't comment on the desserts. I always got the cheese plate and took it back to the cabin to enjoy later. There were a couple of really nice cheeses included. Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted October 2, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 2, 2017 We always eat every night at the steakhouse and very happy to see they really didn't do much to it and kept it the way it is, with the exception of a few items...I don't eat escargot and replacing with the oysters I am sure many people perfer the oysters, I am disappointed no spinach but the Rapini is a good substitute, I love carpaccio but when I saw Beef Tartare I am even happier....they got rid of the lobster ravioli, honestly, my family and I never was interested in it anyways so replacing with the Wagyu beef and the shrimp is a good assortment for people to choose from....desserts honestly they aren't very good none interest me except for the Chocolate Sphere and would like to know exactly what it is. Rare pirate4me2 Posted October 2, 2017 #13 Share Posted October 2, 2017 Darn, no more marinated Portobello mushroom (loved it!), Caprese (another favorite!), creamed spinach (yummmm!), or chocolate sampler. I guess I will be Ok though, I can try the stuffed shrooms and the chocolate sphere. I guess I will enjoy the old menu when I board the Sunshine on Saturday! I'll make sure to order my favorites that are getting the ax.
Doctorsbaby Posted October 2, 2017 #14 Share Posted October 2, 2017 So, so ridiculously excited to see the mac & cheese added as a normal side! They show it as part of the cooking demo but it was "available" on the regular adult menu.
cruisenewbie1 Posted October 2, 2017 #15 Share Posted October 2, 2017 NOOOOO!!!!! I have been waiting for that Chesecake for 2 years. Not fair. 1 week to go. They couldn't wait 2 more weeks.

I board Oct. 26 and while I would be happy with either, I am bringing three Carnival newbies and I would love for them to try the old menu, then come back for the new menu! Thanks and enjoy your trip!

sunshower9 Posted October 2, 2017 #23 Share Posted October 2, 2017 We had the new menu on the Vista sailing that ended yesterday. I had never had the steakhouse before and was looking forward to the cheesecake, but I got the apple dessert instead. It was okay. I liked the elder flower ice cream that came with it. The Art at the Table dessert presentation looked interesting. I saw it done at a table near us. Not something I would order though.
Rare Cruisegirl6 Posted October 2, 2017 #24 Share Posted October 2, 2017 For my family and I apple is our least desired dessert, quite honestly, boring, they could of come up with more interesting and delicious desserts.
rkacruiser Posted October 2, 2017 #25 Share Posted October 2, 2017 Interesting changes to the menu and I have no objections except for the removal of Escargot. I'll find other good selections from which to choose. Except, for Pork Belly which will surely not be my selection.. Why is the current cuisine world so infatuated with Pork Belly?
