Is language a problem for excursions on MS Bremen / MS Hanseatic?

Recommended Posts

We would very much like to go on Bremen or Hanseatic down to Antarctica and S.Georgia in 2019. Previously, we have been to Antarctica on Crystal Symphony, and so we obviously haven’t the opportunity for any landings etc.

I know that the German only advertised sailings shouldn’t be a language problem whilst onboard the vessel, but does the lack of German become a problem on the zodiac trips etc.? I have a basic understanding of German from school, but my husband doesn’t understand the language at all.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Christine

I’m answering this for future cruisers.

It is important that you pick and international departure on these ships to get the most of this very expensive and once in a lifetime trip.

Otherwise, there will be no English lectures, o English menu, no daily briefing or ability to read the program.

Everyone is bilingual on the ship and we had a wonderful time. Only 14 English speakers out of 140.

Loved the cruise line! Will sail them again for a first rate experience.

The Inspiration, coming on in 2019 is the new expedition ships which is all international, bilingual.
