Trying to decide if we should try a Viking Ocean Cruise or Stick with Regent which we are familiar with. Can someone tell me how the shore excursions on Viking are? Are the included shore excursions just bus or walking? Do you have to pay extra for most of the excursions?

If you have been on Regent and Viking would love to hear your views!

Normally, I would suggest that you go to the Viking website to see what tours Viking is offering on the cruise you are considering but the British Isles is a new itinerary for Viking and they still have not updated the website to show the possible tours for the ports that they have not yet visited. Viking offers one included tour in each port, sometimes a walking tour and sometimes a bus tour; they rest are paid tours.

How to see what Viking has on offer so far in the British Isles: click here to go to the Viking website's British Isles Explorer cruise page. Scroll down the page to where it says Day by Day and click on Day 2 (tours aren't ususally offered on Day 1 as it is arrival Day). At the top of the page, you will see previous and next arrows to help navigate from page to page. Scroll down the page learn more about the port and what tours may be on offer.
