Sent from my iPhone using Forums They will pretty much set up anything you wish. Just curious but you mention 5 people, everyone in your party must be in Blu or a suite. Orator Posted November 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 1, 2017 That depends on the time you dine.
Mynki Posted November 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 1, 2017 We had a party of eight on one trip. There is a large circular table in the back area of the restaurant which seated eight. The staff on Eclipse were good enough to reserve us this on the evenings we ate there so I think you'll be fine. Just discuss your situation with the maitre d on your first day and all will be fine. :)
VitaminSea53 Posted November 1, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Originally we had 2 couples traveling together. My sister just decided to join us. She is a solo traveler. We are all in Aqua Class. So now we are a total of 5. I thought it might be harder to get seated in Blu. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
cruzzzinma Posted November 1, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Blu doesn't take reservations, blah, blah blah! However, we've always been able to work out dining for our groups of 6 or 8 for a specific table and time with the maitre d' or the hostess. We always let them know when we had other plans for fewer people. I would think five would be the same since you need a table for 6.
Rare hcat Posted November 1, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 1, 2017 No problem once you set it up..Easier if you dine around the same time...but just let them know..
miched Posted November 2, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 2, 2017 Most people in AQ tend to prefer a table for two. The tavleas are close enough to converse with others if you wish. I don’t think many request dining with others at the larger tables and from past experience it seems as if they “reserve” the larger tables for groups/parties of 6 or 8. Talk to the host. If others not being with a group wanted to share a large table they may be sitting there a long time waiting for it to fill up. CaroleSS Posted November 2, 2017 #10 Share Posted November 2, 2017 That depends on the time you dine. This is actually the best answer....blended in with 'who else is dining with a large party'. We had a party of 6 with our last sailing. We try to eat early so we can get a large table.....but this last time EVERYONE wanted to eat early and there were several large groups! All the big tables were filled at 5:46 (right after BLU opened) and when we came at 6, all the tables were full. The hostess knew us from our last cruise, but said it is 'first come, first served', so was not able to accommodate us at our 'normal' dining time. We had to decide if we wanted to rush to dinner or eat later so that the other large groups could finish and free up the table. The staff is usually very accommodating, but the unpredictability of other passengers throws a monkey wrench into the best laid plans!
Rare hcat Posted November 2, 2017 #11 Share Posted November 2, 2017 On Infinity they had a large group table set up along the far wall . One group came early another much later ...it was fairly consistent & worked out well, Issue for others was not wanting to be seated at tables nearby the large group.....by definition they were louder than smaller tables...yet maitre d kept trying to walk folks back there...We tried it one night and moved before our appetizers arrived. Just too loud...
