Koningsdam Shows

I started looking to see if HAL posted what shows will be on each cruise but I haven't been able to find any except some really dated daily activity schedules.. I was hoping someone traveling this year or more recently could give me an idea of what to expect.. The last cruise i did years ago had Vic Damone and Jerry Van Dyke on it and we sat in the casino late at night drinking and having a great time after everyone went to bed.. I know its not going to be as fun as that but i am interested in the talent and the types of shows to expect..

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

I can't tell you who will be performing (sorry), but I can tell you that it won't be big name stars like you had before.

I remember those days, too, and they are long-gone. Some of the performers may pleasantly surprise you with the quality of their shows, but it is unlikely you will have heard of them before the cruise.

We are off the 10/18 sailing of the Konningsdam so I will try to shed some light on the entertainment. There were the productions, Musicology, One World and 1000 Steps. In between was a magnificent operatic tenor, a magician, a comedian, a couple singers and a sax player. Entertainment, as food is subjective so I will not offer opinions on the shows. I will say One World was my favorite.DO NOT MISS the 60 minute BBC"s presentation of " Frozen Planet Live", The World Stage in itself is amazing, but when you see this show with the screen that surrounds three quarters for the showroom and they have a live orchestra on stage you will say you have never seen anything like it. We also enjoyed the String Quartet on the Lincoln Stage however they a directly across the aisle from the noise of Billboard. Holland goofed badly on this one. You will find the shows at 7:15, 8:30 and 10:15. Hope this helps.

We really enjoyed the production shows on K. One important suggestion - choose seats above the level of the stage. Seats along the walkway as you enter the theater do not give you a good line of sight of performers on stage. Sorry, no "name" performers (gone years ago and not on any cruise line that I know of, unless you book on a "themed" cruise), but quality performances. Agree on the performance venue for strings - why didn't they double-glass in the walls so there wouldn't be the sound bleed from people walking by or from other venues.

Yeah I was 23 and one of the few young ones on the ship so i was up late at night and just about every evening after everyone left those two would show up and we would play Blackjack and drink. Some great stories from Vic about the Vegas and Jerry was one of the funniest guys i have ever hung out with.. They actually were the ones who told me to get in to the entertainment business which i ended up doing and retired from after 20 years. Never saw them again after that but one of the best cruises i have ever been on
