Fishing off the shore

My husband would like to take a fishing pole on our cruise and fish off the shore in Aruba. I've seen some posts that mention you can fish at some of the resorts, but can you fish off the shore or pier on your own without going to a resort? Does he need any sort of fishing license? Thanks in advance for any help.

You should probably google this...."fishing Aruba" or something along those lines. Aruba has a great website!

All beaches in Aruba are open to the public. I have fished there while on a land based vacation on the Flats in front of the fisherman huts on Palm beach and caught Bonefish Barracuda and several fish I couldn't identify. Always fished early in the morning as the beaches get pretty busy later. Good Luck

I usually bring a rod when we cruise . A couple of years ago at Grand Turk I was fishing off a dock with a light spinning rod and a school of big fish came by chasing bait . It was a good thing I didn't hook up cause there was no way I was going to land any of them but it would have been fun getting spooled .
