pablo222 Posted November 22, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2017 With the remodeled terminal 2 Port Everglades, does it have fast free internet available for boarding and in-transit passengers? Unrelated to any work in terminal 2. Free wifi in many (most) of the terminals. Connect to SSID: "Port Everglades Guest" Open a browser, and accept the terms. Free Wifi is among the amenities listed here: http://www.porteverglades.net/cruising/cruise-terminals/terminal-2/

I guess that was to optimistic.

pablo222 Posted November 23, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 23, 2017 Thanks for the update. I used the terminal 2 wifi on Tuesday, when coral was there. No problem. It's not new, it's been there for a couple years.

Todd320 Posted November 23, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted November 23, 2017 It's not new, it's been there for a couple years. Last year I had some problems with down loads at terminal 2. Normally I won't care but on Nov 30th as an in-transit I need to complete some downloads for work.

All have wifi.

As I understand it, and never done it, aren't you walking out of a secured area by Port Authority, and then walking back into the same secured area? If so, what travel documents do you need to take to get back into the secured area?
Todd320 Posted November 23, 2017 Author #12 Share Posted November 23, 2017 As I understand it, and never done it, aren't you walking out of a secured area by Port Authority, and then walking back into the same secured area? If so, what travel documents do you need to take to get back into the secured area? Have done it many times from Terminal 2. All you need is your cruise card and in-transit card from the ship. When you walk off to shop and return you do not go through a Port Everglades check point. All you need is your cruise card and it helps if you have your in-transit card for Princess security to get on the ship. Of course I would bring ID as a back up. pablo222 Posted November 24, 2017 #13 Share Posted November 24, 2017 Thank You! I recommend panera bread, as you can sit, have breakfast and coffee, and use the wifi. Google says 0.6 miles. https://www.google.com/maps/dir/1801+SE+20th+St,+Fort+Lauderdale,+FL/Panera+Bread,+1461+SE+17th+St,+Fort+Lauderdale,+FL+33316/@26.09925,-80.1288856,17z/data=!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x88d9006c8304a381:0xdd4cd1c4f6e5ddb3!2m2!1d-80.123445!2d26.097158!1m5!1m1!1s0x88d90068fbf98c47:0xd3937affddc46569!2m2!1d-80.1285969!2d26.1015244!3e2

It was a convenient and good pre-cruise lunch choice a hop and a skip from T2. My wife's cruise was delayed due to a deep clean and they wanted to eat before waiting in terminal. It would work nicely for breakfast too if not provided at your hotel.
Todd320 Posted November 25, 2017 Author #15 Share Posted November 25, 2017 We are currently anchoring the line at terminal 2 and we are on the internet. The internet is really fast so that answers that.
