Cruisin Kat Posted November 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2017 We would like to volunteer our services for the day, when we go to St. Thomas on a Princess Cruise next week. We have enjoyed St. Thomas and St. Johns for our vacations in the past and would like to give back. Does anyone know if or where or who I would contact to see if we can volunteer to help with clean up while in port and if we can pack additional suitcase filled with whatever they may need? Ott_CanuckSpouse Posted November 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2017 Hi CruisinKat, You could always pack a bag or suitcase of medical supplies to drop off at a clinic or hospital. We did this in Puerto Rico and Antigua two weeks ago from the Summit. Ott_CanuskSpouse
Ms411 Posted November 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2017 The National Park on St John always needs volunteers to help clear the trails. Royal Caribbean used to offer the opportunity as a voluntourism excursion for $50 with proceeds going to the park. Magens Bay Authority on St Thomas may need volunteers to help with clean up and planting, though they don't have a formal program set up to recruit volunteers. As far as supplies, solar lights, radios, and D batteries are always useful. Work gloves for men and women. Pampers for infants and adults. No clothes. No toiletries. douggw Posted December 28, 2017 #4 Share Posted December 28, 2017 I'm curious what you ended up doing CruisinKat. We took some toys once to an orphanage in Belize and was the highlight of our trip.
