Johnkut Posted November 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2017 Has anybody used the global entry when departing the ship? Doers it go smooth? My plan is to get off the ship, get thru global entry and then the shuttle to Enterprise to pick up a van and get back to the pier to pick up the rest of the family. Hoping to get off at 0800 and thru global entry b y 08125 hrs. Is this doable?
cds62 Posted November 30, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2017 I would recommend downloading the Mobile Passport app along with your Global Entry. Both use a designated line which was considerably shorter then the regular line. We used it in September and were off the ship and waiting for an Uber in 20 minutes. Wine-O Posted November 30, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2017 We just got off Freedom earlier this month. They had both a Global Entry and a Mobile Passport line. I have both and choose the Global Entry as it was the shortest. It's not Global Entry per se, but if you have the Global Entry cards, it is just a shorter line to clear customs/immigration. cruzgryphon Posted November 30, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2017 Does anyone know if Canadians with Nexus (that gives us access to Global Entry when going through US customs in Canada) can be used for Global Entry at Port Everglades? Lexi'smom Posted November 30, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 30, 2017 Does anyone know if Canadians with Nexus (that gives us access to Global Entry when going through US customs in Canada) can be used for Global Entry at Port Everglades? Hi, we are Canadian and have used our Nexus cards in the Global Entry in Port Everglades each time we have disembarked. No problem at all.. you just have to have your card in hand and may have to check with multiple cruise terminal staff, as the last time we got off the ship the first staff member we asked said that the Global Entry line was closed... ( which we thought was rather odd) so checked with another cruise terminal employee and they directed right to the line, which was indeed open and had a much shorter line up. paradise4me Posted November 30, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 30, 2017 Are there global entry lines at all the ports? Particularly Port Canaveral? I never noticed any but maybe didnt look hard enough.
Rare L454S Posted November 30, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 30, 2017 At Port Everglades, it seems to be handled differently at different terminals. At one there was a dedicated "Global Entry" line. At another, if you informed the port staff that you had Global Entry, you were escorted or pointed to the front of the line to be the next called. Do not be shy to ask the port staff about where/what to do if you have GE !! Especially if there is no dedicated line. As to Mobile Pass........We did a back to back a couple weeks ago(one a T/A) ending in FLL. I did the Mobile Pass entries on my phone both times we disembarked. Had the phone ready to show the bar codes to the agent. Was not asked at either time to see the Mobile Pass bar code. If you have Global Entry, is this not needed ??????? Can you enter more than one person on the app? For example, my kids are so young they don't have phones. Can I enter their passport information along with mine? Or, would it only accept one and then we would have to wait in the usual line for the kids anyway?

Yes, you can add more than one person on the app. I have my wife and me on the app, and it asks if I want to add another person. Once you submit the information, you only have 3 hours to exit customs/immigration, so when the ship arrives in port and you have cell connection, you submit the information. You can enter all the information for the passengers in your party as long as they have a passport. I have done this for our upcoming sailing. You also need the person with you to take a photo, which is part of the required information. There are 5-6 questions asked, and you need to submit it within 4 hours of passing through CBP. Lexi'smom Posted November 30, 2017 #13 Share Posted November 30, 2017 I was under the impression that Mobile Passport was only available for US citizens..has any Canadians used it successfully? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Baron Barracuda Posted November 30, 2017 #14 Share Posted November 30, 2017 At PE last fall Royal really pushed everyone to enroll in mobile passport. Then at disembarkation of course the system was down. We have Global Entry and after asking about dedicated line were escorted to one that had absolutely no line. Were out of terminal in under one minute. Just be aware you need to show your global entry card to get preferred treatment. Having it linked to passport isn't good enough. mscinmia Posted November 30, 2017 #15 Share Posted November 30, 2017 For Global Entry make sure you have your card in hand and you will be directed to the proper line. For Mobile passport, have your hard copy easily accessible as some CBP agents do not have the machines.
RFerrington Posted November 30, 2017 #16 Share Posted November 30, 2017 We disembarked at PE this past Sunday and they never even asked for a card. We asked where the GE line was and they showed us to a line with no one in it. Out in 30 seconds. I had my card but my husband did not have his. They weren’t needed anyway. sandebeach Posted November 30, 2017 #17 Share Posted November 30, 2017 We showed our Global Entry cards at Port of Miami on Monday and the porter took us right to the front of the Global Entry line. It was great! Sent from my iPhone using Forums

KimA75 Posted December 29, 2017 #20 Share Posted December 29, 2017 We used the mobile app at the port on December 23. The line was much shorter and it went quickly. We did need the actual passports available since our agent did ask to see those. I was glad we had the app though. It would have been two to three times longer to get through customs if we hadn't.
