Daughter & I will be doing the Western Med in a year with our roll Call and have been reading the recommendations for Italy tours, my questions what was the added cost for seeing the Vatican & Colosseum Skip the Line Tickets. We are looking at doing the Shared Best of Rome for 99 euros/$110 US. Thank you.

I toured with them recently on Oct 31, 2019. It was FABULOUS! Our tour was Mt Etna and Taormina. Had a van with 8 ppl which was great for navigating closer at both locations. Our driver/guide Salvatore was truly wonderful! We had some extra time after Mt Etna so he took us to a cafe in the town below for some local specialties (which were amazing!!) !!
The price was very reasonable. We had 2 hours in Taormina which was so nice. Most other tours give much less time. Sal dropped us at the top so we would save time and get to see all of it. Really great having a van on those narrow roads.
The office was great about info prior as well.
I would highly recommend this company!

We LOVED our excursion to the Vatican! Giovanni was wonderful and very informative,  as was our guide Isabella. Your tours are the best! I much preferred your tour to our Oceania tours. Attention to detail, prompt and professional.  I will definitely recommend your company to my friends!

We used Italy Tours for 3 of our excursions on our recent cruise. Chicco and Cristina were both very easy to work with and answered questions promptly. Our first excursion in Livorno was Best of Tuscany. I opted for the semi private tour and posted it on our roll call. Another couple signed up so the tour could move forward since we now had 6. However a month before the cruise this same couple cancelled. I posted again and no one else seemed interested. I felt we needed to cancel as we no longer had the minimum amount for the tour. However Cristina said that was not the case and we did the tour with just the four of us. Wolfgang was our driver and he was great! We were spoiled for future excursions.

Our second excursion was in Palermo, Sicily. I also put this on our roll call and had 4 other passengers join our group of four. I'm surprised this trip is not on the web page to show it's availability, I found out about it through Chicco. I liked that we started in Monreale first and walked right into the cathedral, when we left an hour later the crowds and line had started to form.

Our third excursion was in Naples- Pompeii, Sorrento & the Amalfi Coast. We joined a group of fellow  passengers on this excursion, there were 14 on this group. All three tours were great and all three drivers were wonderful and got us back to the ship with time to spare. We also used the sister company, Barcelona Day Tours for our tour in Barcelona.

I used them on our visit in Naples last week. We did the Pompeji and Amalfi coast tour. Our guide Valentina and the Pompeji guide Maria did an amazing job and we had a great tour. Price is much less than booking on the ship and it's a much more personal tour, so i highly recommend them

We took a tour with Italy tours Oct 2019 on celebrity Reflection. We hooked up with people on the role call. 8 of us in total trip from Naples to Positano Amalfi run and Ravello. It was fab tour van was spacious we had 3 guys over 6ft they were fine. Francisco driver was eager to make sure we had good time. We also did boat trip from Amalfi so worth it. Scenery is stunning and I would recommend Italy tours all went like clockwork. Early start but so worth it.

We used ItalyTours on our recent (last week) excursion from the port of Livorno.  Four of our group did the Florence & Pisa tour; four of us did the Tuscany tour (Siena, San Gimignano).

There were a few glitches in communication but ultimately all went well.  It was a cloudy day with rain in the afternoon so we didn’t see as much as we could have, but all-in-all it was good value for the money.

Most importantly, the drivers were on time, instructions were clear, the vehicles were clean and comfortable and the drive felt safe (which can be problematic in Italy).

I definitely recommend ItalyTours.

We did the Pompeii and Amalfi Coast with them in October.  This was a great tour!  Both of our guides were knowledgeable and passionate about providing us information about the sites we visited and provided us ample time to synthesize the information they provided and explore on our own.  The driver was amazing as we navigated the winding Amalfi coast.

Buongiorno!  I had a fabulous tour of the French Riviera with Guy and an amazing tour of the Amalfi coast with Roberto. I enjoyed the small group experience much more than a shore excursion with 60 people on a bus from the cruise shIp. I recommend Italy Tours to my friends and fellow travelers. Grazié mille!

We just returned from a cruise to the Mediterranean and Adriatic, and used ItalyTours for two tours:  Best of Florence from Livorno and Pompeii, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast from Naples.  ItalyTours does a great job informing participants of all necessary information (tour description, length, meeting place, etc.) and is quick to reply to all emails. Both tours were well-organized, well staffed and enjoyable.  The drivers were very good and guides were informative.  We would not hesitate to use ItalyTours again in the future.

Which towns did you visit on the Coast and how much time did you spend at each ?

We visited Sorrento for about 1 1/2 hours and stopped in Positano and a few other places for pictures.  A lot depends on the traffic on the coast and how much time you have.  We were on a cruise ship and had a hard stop time.  We were at Pompeii for a few hours so there wasn't a lot of time on the coast even though the traffic was light the day we went.

Thanks. That's what I was afraid of ..... spending time in Sorrento instead of towns on the Amalfi Coast.  We decided to skip Pompeii in order to have more time visiting villages on the Coast.  Tough decision but there just wasn't enough time to do it all.  Thx for responding.

I did the Amalfi Coast tour and we visited three towns. There was time to eat and shop in all three. The coastal drive is spectacular and we stopped a few times for pictures. Positano was first followed by Amalfi ( where I ate lunch) and then Ravello. We drove past Vesuvius and the ruins of Pompeii were pointed out. If you want to get the flavor of the coast, this was a great trip.

We had such a lovely day and great experience booking with Italy Tours. We used them for Sicily.  We were a small group of 8 and we went to Mt. Etna and Taormina.  I could tell our guide really wanted us to enjoy ourselves and he was very knowledgeable.  It was great being in a van and being able to zip around the large tour buses.  I highly recommend this company and traveling this way.  Prices are reasonable for what you get and e mail communication with Cristina was always prompt and reliable.  If I get the opportunity to return, I will book with them again.

We used Italy Tours for 2 excursions recently on our mediterranean cruise. Our first tour was from Messina in Sicily to Mount Etna and Taormina and our second excursion from Napels to Pompei, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. We enjoyed both tours and had a wonderful time. Our guides and drivers Giancarlo in Sicily and Gianluca in Naples were both vera knowledgeable and friendly. They met our group punctual at the meeting place and did a great job driving and pointing out all the many places of interest. One of the highlights was our visit to Pompeii with our professional local guide Maria, who gave us very interesting explanations. We will recommend this company to all our friends and family.

Traveled on Oceania Marina Venice to Rome. Completed two 8 hour Italy Tours EU in Messina and Napoli.  Great guides and great value.  Salvatori was excellent as we toured Etna and Tiamora.  All guides spoke fluent English very polite with a sense of humor. Never worried about making it back to the ship on time.  The second day we had new guides for Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast.  All made for special memories.  I will definitely use EU Tours on our next trip.  Highly recommend.

We have two wonderful tour with Italytours.

Rome with Paolo & Alessandro on Oct. 25th.
Florence with Dementra & Silvia on Oct. 26th.
They are very good guides & excellent drivers.
This travel is very important for my siblings that travel together at the age of 60's. This is also the first time I visit Italy.
Before we choose Italytours, my sister had a comprehensive study about tour company. After all, she select Italytours because many people that choose Viking cruise gave Italytours highly evaluation.
We really enjoy the tour with friendly, professional and warmly staff.
We learned history, art, experienced astonished original arts and also took short cut to save time.It is a great memory in my life.

I like to thank Italytours for the unforgettable service.

Hi,

My DH and I just got back from a 12-day Princes Cruise to the Mediterranean.  We did take two tours with ItalyToursEU (ItalyToursEU.com).

Best of Florence/Pisa Tour Review

Our driver was Massimiliano, and guide was Virginia.  They were both very knowledgeable and passionate about their cities and country.  Massimiliano, answered several questions about what we were seeing during the nearly 1-1/2 hour drive to Florence.  He was prompt in picking us up at the ship, and we were escorted to our beautiful, newer Van.  When we got into the city, we were greeted by our walking guide, Virginia.  She spoke English very well and was easily understood.  Wow, what a beautiful city Florence is.  We loved seeing all that we did.  I was so surprised when I teared up seeing the Statue of David.  That had to have been the most beautiful piece of art I have ever seen.  Everything about it gave me chills.  I did not have any kind of attachment to the statue beforehand, but I do now!!  Really the highlight of our whole trip. Breathtaking.

We loved the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. It would have been nice if we were able to have gotten some kind of idea of what the interior looked like.  After reviewing the literature, it did not mention an inside visit of the building (I've seen towns smaller than this Cathedral).

Virginia, was really good about keeping our group together and on pace, as there was a huge amount to see.  She was very knowledgeable about everything she was talking about and was happy to expand on the sites and also answered our many questions.  We definitely would love to have Virginia show us around again, she was great.

After, free time and lunch we went and met back-up with Massimiliano, for the 45 min ride to the Village of Pisa.  The Leaning Tower of Pisa, was so cool!!  Not sure what we were expecting, but that place was above and beyond.  We loved that "little tower" in the square.  It was smaller than I was expecting, but in no way disappointing.  So pretty in person.  After Pisa, we went back to the ship, which was about a 30 minute ride.

Next time, now that we have seen Pisa, will look for a tour that spends more time in just Florence, as there is so much to see.  Again, thanks to Virginia, and to our driver Massimiliano

Pompeii, Sorrento, and Amalfi Coast.

Our driver was Salvatore and guide in Pompeii was Valeria.  Salvatore was also the driver/guide for Sorrento and Almalfi Coast.  They we both very good, knowledgeable and pleasant.  Wow, Pompeii, what can we say about one of the most beautifully excavated ruins in the world.  This was a life-long dream to see this magnificent place.  Valeria, was very informative and enthusiastic about everything she was talking about.  She made sure we were getting around ok (those "streets" are hard to walk on!).  Her descriptions were so vivid, we could actually "see" ourselves in the arena, markets and baths.  There really are not enough words to describe Pompeii and the mountain of Vesuvius!  The drive to Sorrento was spectacular and Salvatore was very informative about the roads, tunnels, and buildings along the way.  Great driver.  Well, what can we say about Sorrento?  There are not enough words to describe one of the prettiest towns we have ever been in.  Just a gorgeous downtown area (like a movie setting), with a lot going on.  Wonderful shopping too.  I think we had about 1:45 min of free time.  DH and I had a beautiful lunch, and did a little shopping.  We have got to go back there!

The Amalfi Coast drive was stunning.  We got a great feel for the beauty, even though it was quite hazy out that day.  Our driver was really good at describing the area and history.  We have to come back here to spend more time in this part of the world.

Thoroughly, enjoyed both of the tours we went on with ItalyToursEU.  This cruise trip was the first time for us using Private Tours (non-ship tours),  We definitely are sold on seeing the sites this way.  We did do a few ship tours, as we were either too late in getting signed up with others on Cruise Critic or missed out because we didn't see the posts requesting tour mates.  Since, I am a little more knowledgeable about how to go about booking private tours and will DEFINITELY be calling ItalyToursEU next time.

Safe Travels Everyone,

Colleen

Hi Gay,

Well glad my review helped you out.  ItalyToursEU were really great.  Make sure when signing up online you keep all your email correspondence in a folder.  Sometimes, with all the tours we booked, (with this company and others), I was confused on whether we were actually signed up and confirmed?  Print your confirmation pages and bring them with you, as they will give you info as “paid, dress requirements, meeting places, etc.

Have a great time!

Colleen
