Do Princess limit numbers for each Connoiseur Tour in Alaska depending on train/bus availability or other factors? Do they use mini type buses with 10-20 max or the large touring coaches for 50 or so?

I notice that some Cruisetours in May/June 2018 are 'sold out' for whatever reason. Just the land portion I guess.

A group of friends and my wife and I booked a 15-day connoisseur escorted cruise/tour in 2014. We booked it as soon as it was opened for booking. One couple of our group of 6 couples of friends was a couple days later than the rest of us in booking and got the number 1 position on the wait list. They later got on our tour when someone canceled. The land tour took bookings for only 50 people. When the group of 50 met in Fairbanks at a welcome banquet we were divided into two groups. Our group had 24 people and the other group had 26 people. Since all the 6 couples of friends booked using the same travel agent, our bookings were linked. That meant that Princess made sure we all were in the same group. Each group had a tour director. Each group traveled separately, both on the rail car and on the motor coach modes of transportation between the 4 lodges and to the ship.

It was on this tour that our tour director explained why I was mistaken when I referred to our motor coach as a bus. He said a bus has no rest room while a motor coach does. We only rode a bus while on the Tundra Wilderness excursion in Denali park where only park buses are allowed.
