scottyg Posted January 7, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2018 Question about the Carnival Vista. Have you been denied Cozumel tender due to wind & waves? I am disabled and transport myself in a scooter. Thanks people! Scott

picomullet Posted January 7, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2018 Hasn't the wind kept some ships from docking there? or am I thinking of another port. We've never tendered in Cozumel and have been many times.
Rare pirate4me2 Posted January 7, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 7, 2018 Been to Cozumel twice on Vista and neither time was a tender. Do you mean Grand Cayman? Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Good luck!!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums Sometimes Carnival needs to tender in Cozumel when there are too many ships in port and an overbooking of the berths occurs. Although it is rare, it does happen every now and then and the itinerary is not modified for logistical or operational purposes due to an unforeseen circumstance. BallFour4 Posted January 7, 2018 #17 Share Posted January 7, 2018 Been cruising to Cozumel since 2002 on 35 different sailings and we’ve never tendered. When hurricane Wilma wiped out the pier they tendered for a while, but not since then. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Hotdog 52 Posted January 7, 2018 #18 Share Posted January 7, 2018 Yes, when the hurricane destroyed the piers, we were suppose to tender but couldn't because of wind and wave height.:)

Although it is rare, it does happen every now and then and the itinerary is not modified for logistical or operational purposes due to an unforeseen circumstance. I have cruised in the Caribbean probably 100+ times and have probably been to Cozumel 60 or 70 times. Have never had to take a tender even after a hurricane took out Carnival's dock. We did, and on the cruise prior we skipped Cozumel because of damage from Wilma and went to Veracruz instead.
