chiguypaul Posted January 7, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2018 Every cruise I’ve been on has had bad service on the last day of the cruise in the dining room. Have others found the same?
Rare LMaxwell Posted January 7, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2018 No, I've not noticed any differences in service the final evening. But Disembarkation morning service is totally gone; if breakfast is offered that is in the MDR. Seems to be becoming a hit or miss thing.
Clarea Posted January 7, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2018 If there's been a consistent bad night for us, it's been the first night.
CapeCoralCruiser Posted January 7, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2018 If there's been a consistent bad night for us, it's been the first night. Not every cruise, but for us, always doing MTD, I agree the first night most often tends to be the worst.
OCruisers Posted January 7, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 7, 2018 Not the service but seems the menu selection is often not very good the last night of a cruise.
Paulxyz2004 Posted January 7, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2018 If there's been a consistent bad night for us, it's been the first night. Same here and not exclusive to Royal, but other lines had the same problem.

Service is usually fine on last night... menu.... least favorite. Oh well. It's a cruise. I still end up coming home a "bit plumper" than when I left.

Yes, this is what we have noticed and thus plan to eat in a specially restaurant that night. Since we like traditional dining, we plan it so we can stop by and have coffee and say our goodbyes to table mates.
BILLP1 Posted January 7, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 7, 2018 First night is usually a little rough due to crew change over .

The last night was fine but notable for all the empty tables.
ONECRUISER Posted January 7, 2018 #12 Share Posted January 7, 2018 Same here and not exclusive to Royal, but other lines had the same problem. Agree. Lack of selection like on other lines last nite but not poor service...
OCruisers Posted January 7, 2018 #13 Share Posted January 7, 2018 When taking a B2B, we almost always go to a specialty restaurant the last night of the first leg. ;)

davekathy Posted January 7, 2018 #15 Share Posted January 7, 2018 First evening in the MDR is a little slower but not bad service. Service for the last evening in the MDR never. Even the last morning of the cruise in the MDR we've never experience bad or slow service. Not sure if having a table for two in the MDR for every meal has anything to do with it. Beachammo Posted January 7, 2018 #17 Share Posted January 7, 2018 Agreed. The last night was fine but notable for all the empty tables. People, not wanting to feel obligated to give an extra tip on the last night, don't show up. Sent from my VS995 using Tapatalk
grapau27 Posted January 7, 2018 #18 Share Posted January 7, 2018 If there's been a consistent bad night for us, it's been the first night. I agree with this thats why we now go for the BOGO deal and have the first two nights in the specialty restaurants.
