Well I'm a diabetic, so I pretty well stick to what I know works for me:)

I LOVE my eggs over hard or scrambled, either breakfast sausage and 4 oz. of orange juice!

Coffee is a "free food" and yeah I usually need about 3 cups to get moving at all especially if I've been in the casino or partying till 3AM and have shore tours to get to lol!!!!

Now if I'm in for a more active morning, I may indulge in a piece of toast also!

I know it's nothing fancy but hey, I love it!!!:D

I love to have an omelet with cheese, ham, grilled onions, tomato, and jalapenos, or cilantro (if they have that).

My FAVORITE breakfast was in Puerto Vallarta on our HM. At our resort, they had these muffins that were SOOOOOO good. They were as big as a salad plate, and had banana, nuts, and lots of other stuff in them.

Ummmmmm, I'd love to have that recipe. :)

Never been on a cruise, but what I'd like to have:

Migas, refried beans, jalepenos, fresh tortillas, and enough coffee so I can see my heart beat on the outside of my chest.

But what I'd settle for:

French scrambled eggs, grits, hash browns (the grated kind, not the chopped kind), and biscuits. Oh, and coffee.

For two months before each cruise, I spend an unbelievable amount of time fantasizing about this ... Hot strong coffee, cold fresh melon, buttery croissants with strawberry or raspberry jam, on my balcony with the warm sun on my face. Life could not possibly get any better than that!!!

Mine is generally anything prepared by anyone but me that I just sit down and get served!(I cook all the time, and professionally!) but I Iove an eggwhite omelet with sauteed onions, mushrooms, red peppers ,spinach, tomato and feta cheese, or huevos rancheros with queso fresco and salsa verde and cilantro, also and great smoked salmon with capers. Fresh pineapple and papaya, mango and other tropical fruits. But a warm croissant with gobs of good raspberry or blackberry prreserves sounds good too. Celebrity has awesome food. In their AquSpa cafe, and in their dining rooms. can't wait April 9 on the Constellation! Yikes I'm getting hungry!

For me...it varies day to day, but my favorite thing is to order room service for breakfast. Nothing better than starting the day at my own pace nibbling on a criossant as I get ready. Life is good when you're on a cruise!

m&pcoty - i was waiting for someone to finally list the parfait. My absolute favorite to order from room service. A real treat to start the day, as I sit on the balcony. The other mornings when I go to the buffet it's bagels, salmon and cream cheese all the way!!!!

Also, joeyancho - it's actually a proven fact that NY Bagels (and pizza by the way) are not replicated outside of NY because of the water. It has been determined that because of the composition of the water in NY it has a unique effect on the doughs used in bagels and pizza, thus creating the "unique" light, fluffy and yet filling texture that they end up with. It's not to say you can't get a good bagel, it just won't be a "NY Bagel".

Ahhh...this is my type of thread!

On our first (and most current LOL) cruise, we used room service the first day and thought it was alright, but on day 2, we discovered the dining room and we ate breakfast there every day following!

I usually had:

-Whatever danish/roll they came around with after orders had been taken

-Oatmeal with cream and brown sugar

-Some type of eggs with bacon/sausage/hashbrowns

-Juice, milk, and coffee

I don't eat it all, but rather pick at everything LOL

Cruising = massive eating for me LOL...I don't eat much at home, but when I'm on a cruise? I'm constantly at it LOL. I gained 8lbs. on my first cruise and lost it within the first week I was home. As a preemptive strike, I planned to lose 10lbs. before we cruise in May so I could gain it back on the boat ;)

Hi joelmarj! It's great to hear about another breakfast parfait lover. That granola was simply the best I've ever had - fresh, moist and tons of nuts!! I hope others begin to discover this luscious way to start the day on a Celebrity cruise.

Happy cruising!

Pat

my favorite cruise breakfast was on the Nordic Prince May 1985....we had lobster tails for dinner the night before and so we tried to order lobster for breakfast. Our waiter told us we watched too much Love Boat  and suggested the ham and cheese omlet with potatoes. so we agreed and munched on some pastries and fruit while our omlets were cooking. When he arrived with our breakfast he placed the covered dishes in front of us and lifted both silver covers at the same time......to our surprise there were our ham and cheese omlets, potatoes, and YES a lobster tail.......don't have to tell you he got a nice tip at the end of our cruise.....:D

That's easy. We did Celebrity Zenith and they have an informal buffet. All their food for the entire Celebrity line of ships is created by a french chef. So the buffet was just loaded with croissants, pastries, buns, as well as eggs, bacon, the usual breakfast fare. Their pastries are to die for. I've been to France a long time ago, and the pastries on Zenith are comparable with those in France. Thank God I had to do a lot of walking on board. I would have gained 1,000 pounds if I hadn't gotten exercise! (well almost).
