PaCUfan Posted January 19, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Hi all, I have a DJI spark quad copter which I like to take with me on my Carnival Cruises (Yes, they've allowed it on several consecutive cruises and it's in writing on their website that it's allowed, so please do not respond with "don't even bring it" or "they will confiscate it"). I've used it in places like HMC, GT, etc. but never taken it to the Bahamas. Does anyone have any experience with using it while in Nassau, Princess Cays, or Freeport? There appears to be a way to register it on the Bahamas aviation site, but I didn't know if that was more for professional usage. I'm talking a VERY small drone, with the expectation of 20-30 minutes flight time at a beach only. Thanks in advance
Rare shof515 Posted January 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2018 I seen signs posted around the Nassau cruise terminal that says no drones allowed, so be careful flying it around the ships using it at the beach might be good

I've always wanted a shot of that lighthouse from the air!
scubagirrl Posted January 19, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Not allowed in the Nassau area. You can get a permit for the out islands. But not allowed near port or any tourist areas.

That' stinks. Any idea where I can find this in writing?

I saw the no drone signs as well while in port in Nassau.
PaCUfan Posted January 19, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Sounds like a no-go. I see tons of footage on YT so I can't imagine this is being enforced. But I'm not trying to get in trouble either. Thanks for the input guys
