Viking Sea Laundry: Coins, Tokens, or Bills? and..,

On the Sea, there was a place on the wall with buttons for each washer to push to dispense the soap into the machine. It has been pointed out several times here that the detergent is specific to these machines. Don't bring/use stuff from home. If you're worried about sensitivities, several commenters have reported that they had no problems with the soap. At the dollar store, I got one of those mesh hampers with a wire frame to use as a laundry basket. It folds up to about the size of the big outside pocket on our suitcase. Very helpful. And the best part about the self-serve laundry: free! Try the "search" function (top of this page) for more information about these kinds of details

Do the laundry either early in the morning or late evening. It was great having washing machines and dryers. On the star , the detergent came out automatically, but I heard that on the Sea, you have an option.

No, you don't have an option for your own detergent on the Sea. It's free, but detergent comes out automatically.
