SweetPease Posted February 26, 2018 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2018 Departing soon (Saturday) for our first cruise aboard the Summit. We’ve purchased a 3 night specialty dining package and would love suggestions on where to dine. Should we try all 3 restaurants or stick to certain venues? Read a few reviews that were not favorable to Tuscan Grille. Thanks in advance for any and all help!
TeeRick Posted February 26, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2018 Summit does not have many choices if you purchased a 3-night dining package. Don't worry about the reviews here. Just try the restaurants yourself. Dining is very subjective. We were on Summit a few months ago. We enjoyed Qsine, Tuscan and Sushi-on-5. Enjoy your cruise! Bo1953 Posted February 26, 2018 #3 Share Posted February 26, 2018 I agree with t, sometimes the James Beard judges have a bad night when reviewing or sometimes the chefs have a bad night when reviewed. The good thing is, you can always send your meal back and order something else instead of 'suffering', if in fact it is bad. bon appetite and bon voyage
LordCapybara Posted February 26, 2018 #4 Share Posted February 26, 2018 QSINE. it's a James Beard award-winning restaurant, loved it. Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app
Hotel CA Posted February 26, 2018 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2018 Definitely QSINE if you have never tried it-- I might use the deal for 2 nites there and 1 nite Sushi-on-
jcpc Posted February 26, 2018 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2018 I am not a fan of QSINE. However I have had several excellent meals in Tuscan Grille. I would suggest you try all 3 restaurants!! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
papajoe117@aol.com Posted February 26, 2018 #7 Share Posted February 26, 2018 I liked Tuscan Grill but ask for half portions so you can try everything. You can also have dessert sent to your room so you can enjoy it later.
SweetPease Posted February 26, 2018 Author #8 Share Posted February 26, 2018 Thank you to everyone for the input. Really like the menu option at Qsine so am tempted to do as suggested with 2 nights there and one at Sushi on 5. Unless Tuscan Grille has a chipping, we may skip that one. Any idea if they offer it? SweetPease Posted February 26, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted February 26, 2018 That was meant to say "cioppino" :)
jcpc Posted February 26, 2018 #10 Share Posted February 26, 2018 That was meant to say "cioppino" :) Glad you posted that clarification. For the life of me I could not imagine what "chipping" was. I've eaten at Tuscan Grille many times but can't recall if they have cioppino. I believe the full menu from Summit has been posted on cruise critic, though, so maybe you can find it there. You know, with enough notice, I would not doubt that the chef could not prepare it exactly or as close as possible as a special order... would not hurt to request several days in advance. bon voyage
JMG Posted February 27, 2018 #12 Share Posted February 27, 2018 Our problem with Quisine was that we completed our menu choices and the waiter brought us what HE thought we would like. It was not a great experience for us! We did like Tuscany.
TeeRick Posted February 27, 2018 #13 Share Posted February 27, 2018 Hard to understand your comment. I've dined in Qsine a number of times. You select everything you want in advance on the iPad then the waiter adjusts the order of food delivery to you in what makes most sense. But the waiter also discusses the order of your food delivery with you in case you want to change it. Maybe you had a less experienced waiter.
