Heather1972 Posted March 2, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2018 Hi all, How’s the water temperature in late June in Mallorca? Seems it might be a litttle cold to do a beach day or am I wrong?
EnricM Posted March 3, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 3, 2018 You are wrong... beach time in the Med starts -on a normal year- by late April albeit water is still cold by then and few dare to do much more than a quick "flash visit" to the water, but by mid-May, the water temperature is good enough for "normal" people to swim. Note there are people swimming all year round, but you need to be damn brave for that -I'm not, LOL!. But again, it all boils down to what you understand for "good enough to swim". roger b Posted March 3, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 3, 2018 72 degree water = too cold to enjoy If You pick a sheltered bay (Illetas beach) the water temp can be slightly higher also you will need to go in the water to cool off , I am always swimming from the 1st of June and it is warm enough. LondonTowner Posted March 3, 2018 #5 Share Posted March 3, 2018 When I lived in the Balearic Islands it was always OK to go swimming by mid May. At the end of June weather is good and certainly swimming weather. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Rare Hlitner Posted March 9, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2018 72 degree water = too cold to enjoy ROFL. For those raised on the Jersey shore or North of that area....72 was pretty normal :). That being said, in our old age we now prefer South Carolina beaches where the temps are often in the 80s :). We have swam at Mallorca in July and the water was nice (probably mid to upper 70s) but have never been there in June. Hank
