richsea Posted March 19, 2018 #26 Share Posted March 19, 2018 The water in out bathroom is weird . We are having a hard time getting the water colder.? I will investigate this phenomenon more and let you know. We have never had cold water out of the sink tap on a cruise ship. IT starts out cool, then runs to slightly warm. Enjoying tagging along with you! Enjoy your cruise. Were looking at at future cruise on Crown, but we haven't sailed her since her first year, so looking forward to your impressions. AJs Grandpa Posted March 19, 2018 #27 Share Posted March 19, 2018 Any update on new beds ? We are on the Crown April 25th. Post Dry Dock so hoping all beds will have been replaced. Mattresses in our cabin (C752) were replaced during our cruise last week. Room steward said the goal was to have all replaced before the dry dock. rocklinmom Posted March 20, 2018 #34 Share Posted March 20, 2018 Xtrmflyer, you are in a cabin right near the ones I have booked on Crown for next summer (Riviera interiors aft, by the exit to Terrace Pool). Can you please tell me how it is? Is there noise from the buffet area above on Lido? And does that door to the aft pool get used a lot, as in lots of foot traffic? Would you recommend that cabin? Thank you for any info you can give me.

Thank you for any info you can give me. I'm not Xtrmflyer but we were in the last inside room right before the terrace pool in January, R745. I was a little worried about these same issues but it wasn't a problem at all. I never saw anyone other than us use that door and we never heard noise from the buffet or pool deck. It was really nice being close to those areas and since we were in an inside room it was nice to be so close to the outside. We relaxed at the terrace pool the whole week. The only negative was that it was a long walk to get to the other end of the ship.
Rare Host CJSKIDS Posted March 20, 2018 #36 Share Posted March 20, 2018 Yes, we had the same issue in our cabin on the Caribe deck...almost scalding at the sink sometimes! We had the exact same issue in our cabin on Caribe!! Hated brushing my teeth in hot water.

mellon1 Posted March 20, 2018 #38 Share Posted March 20, 2018 Yes it has and it's been lovely. Lucky you. I am happy for you, as I know what it is like 3 cruises and only 2 1/2 days open. They did have their health inspection at the end of our cruise, and I think the filter was a problem, thus the reason for the closing...possibly. Glad you are enjoying

Xtrmflyer Posted March 21, 2018 Author #41 Share Posted March 21, 2018 Yesterday we were in Aruba. Fantastic day! Got up around 7 and went to the IC. Great croissant and hazelnut swollen. We hired a private driver for the day. She was great. Took us everywhere. The rock formations, natural bridge, lighthouse, pls smelting place and an ostrich farm. Very informative and knowledgeable. Her name is Urmy. She was waiting right outside security with a sign with my name on it. I like that. After all touring she dropped of my friend and I at Boca Catalina so we could snorkel for a couple of hours. All in all I had a really good time. Note to self buy a dive skin. The water is cold, I mean really cold. Evening: we ate in the Michelangelo dining room tonight. I had the veal marsala. It was only ok. My friends had the grilled seafood and said it was really good . Dessert was creme brule(sp), tiramisu and limoncello sorbetto (Really really good). Watched some karaoke under the stars and called it an evening. Up next Curacao. Thanks for following.

Xtrmflyer Posted March 22, 2018 Author #45 Share Posted March 22, 2018 Yesterday was Curacao. Wow wow wow. We did !n intro to scuba with CURios2dive. Hans was fantastic. Very safety minded and very patient. We were able to do two dives even though we were beginners. Best excursion ever. The port is under construction so we had a bit of a hike but there was a shuttle if you wanted to wait. When it's done it will be beautiful. Participated in the dancing with stars and came in 3rd. Surprised we got that far. Dinnè was in the buffet. Is was pretty good. Didn't feel like the dining room experience. Watched sail away. Very pretty. First sail away I've done this cruise. Lost a lot of money in the casino. 😥😥 no I won't define lot. Sang some karaoke and had a good time. They put the wrong song up so I improvised. Didn't know you stop them and get the right one. Still had fun. Went to bed and slept great. Went to check the internet and I forgot to logout.😢😢 spoke with Tess and she gave me back my minutes. 😀😀😀 So far having a great time. The Crown may not be the youngest ship but she's still really goo#. Hope I'm not too boring.
Xtrmflyer Posted March 23, 2018 Author #46 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Yesterday was a sea day. Got a massage. Finally finished my book. Laid like a slug in the sanctuary. Then the spa pool closed. When I asked why the answer was someone threw up in the pool. Now they have to drain and clean. Truth, I don't know, buts that's the reason I was given. [emoji853][emoji853][emoji853] Tried out for the slot tournament. Didn't make the cut. Ate dinner in the Crown grill. Very yummy. Drank too much wine and sang karaoke. Embarrassed my husband [emoji16] then around midnight they poured me into bed. I slept very well or just passed out. Won't go into reasons but my drinking was justified. I don't normally get drunk. Since the spa pool is closed my friend and I were at the aft pool by 0630 and almost all the chairs were taken. We ju st managed to snag 2. Chair hogs are in abundance. AliceS Posted March 23, 2018 #47 Share Posted March 23, 2018 I sometimes take an inside cabin and it’s really OK, but I am trying to imagine 4 adults in one together, at the same time....wow, you must be GOOD friends. Have a great time.
southpawsdakota Posted March 23, 2018 #48 Share Posted March 23, 2018 Can you tell me if life preservers were needed for the muster drill. I have read that on some ships that you are not required to have to drag them along with you anymore. Enjoying your blog as I will be on the Crown April 3.
