georgiB Posted March 24, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2018 How long does it take you to get off the ship? I’m not talking about diamond or platinum or whatever it’s called or faster to the fun just regular people. sanmarcosman Posted March 25, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2018 Embarkation is when you join the ship not leave it. Disembarking is getting off the ship and is faster if you do self-assist and take your luggage with you. If you are asking for air reasons there are many variables to making connections. If you give your flight time it would be helpful for those answering.

Thank you Sent from my iPhone using Forums I'm amazed you could change the thread title, no one has ever been able to do that that I'm aware of. You're welcome but I'm more impressed you could change it. :)

dolita22 Posted March 25, 2018 #6 Share Posted March 25, 2018 Sailed the Glory last month and had to vacate our rooms by 8:30 and wait in the casino or one other location that I'm forgetting until our deck was called. We were on deck 6 and waited about an hour, and we carried our suitcases off with us. We were through customs by 9:45 and in our car on the way home by 10. For the first time ever after a cruise, we were not flying, so we took our time. ETA: We were not FTTF, Diamond or Platinum. Just Red cruisers. :-)
georgiB Posted March 25, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted March 25, 2018 Thank you that helps. I’ve been concerned because my daughter booked her flight back leaving at 11:21 AM. She was told by our TA not to book anything before 11:30 so she’s in a panic.
pcvtmom Posted March 25, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 25, 2018 If you notify guest services of an early flight, they will generally make arrangements for you to get off the ship sooner. It's important to SELF-disembark, which will also expediate the process.

Bookworm1985 Posted March 25, 2018 #10 Share Posted March 25, 2018 My last cruise my in-laws booked a super early flight and were allowed to head off early. They had their boarding pass handy to show anyone that questioned them. They did make it but way too close for my comfort. Organized Chaos Posted March 25, 2018 #12 Share Posted March 25, 2018 Are there still any FTTF available for your cruise? If so, she could purchase that because one of the perks is early debark. Might be a pricey way to ensure she gets off the ship early enough, but could also give her peace of mind. FTTF is per cabin, not per person, so if you (or anyone else) is staying in the same cabin with her, they get to share the FTTF perks. And could split the cost, too. :) Even if it's currently not available, sometimes they open up more FTTF slots as the cruise gets closer, so you can keep checking. You purchase FTTF from your online Cruise Manager, in the same place as excursions.
saraandnick Posted March 25, 2018 #13 Share Posted March 25, 2018 Will the passenger that is trying to get off early be turned back if they use self assist but join an earlier deck level so they can get off early? Anybody tried that? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
georgiB Posted March 25, 2018 Author #14 Share Posted March 25, 2018 No FTTF. I check at least twice a day including late at night and I will continue keeping watch on that.

Anybody tried that? Sent from my iPhone using Forums No. They ask you not to get in line until your deck is called but it doesn’t work that way. We just got off the Dream this morning and decks 1 and 12 was first, we were deck 6 and was suppose to be in the second group called but after an hour of those from the first 2 decks leaving and me watching people from all decks keep getting in line I finally joined them and walked right off. Next time I will be off an hour earlier than I was today. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
pittsburghcruise23 Posted March 26, 2018 #16 Share Posted March 26, 2018 IF you do self Assist just walk off with the first group they won't check. Not supposed to do this but it will work.
