kdj Posted March 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2018 I'm in search of wisdom I am sailing on the Getaway on 4/8 and interested in getting Vibe passes for DH and myself. We are bronze level with NCL. We are willing to get up early on embarkation day, even though we won't get into Miami until 1am the night before IF it was worth it. This is where I need your wisdome: If we got to the Terminal by 9:30am, with the new boarding system, is it even worth it?? In other words would we/ Bronze level passengers/ have a good chance to get Vibe passes? Or will hundreds of passengers board before us?
Two Wheels Only Posted March 25, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2018 It's different for each sailing. As a non-priority guest, arriving early and getting a low boarding number is your best option. Some priority guests have no interest in VIBE so if they don't get passes, you have a better chance. If VIBE passes are in high demand for your sailing, you might not stand a chance. There is no harm in trying.
2naBill Posted March 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2018 On a recent sailing on the Getaway we arrived at 0830 waited in the foyer till about 1030 check in time. Grabbed a group 1 boarding card, when getting to guest services they had about 8 two pass envelopes left. Eat more Tuna!
Rare BirdTravels Posted March 25, 2018 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2018 It all depends. If you want to try, then get to the terminal before 9:30. Low boarding group. Your terminal (B or C) starting general boarding first. Your gangway moving quickly (not a lot of people blocking the passage taking those first photos of the ship). lowroller Posted March 25, 2018 #7 Share Posted March 25, 2018 If you do not get one, ask to be wait listed if they will do that.
gmbhardy Posted March 25, 2018 #8 Share Posted March 25, 2018 Last Saturday on the Escape we were in boarding group four and just missed getting the tickets. We would have gotten them had it not been for a person blocking the gangway while struggling with their luggage.
sailingmillennial Posted March 25, 2018 #9 Share Posted March 25, 2018 What is NCL new boarding policy? I have questions about this too. Like the OP, I'm interested in getting Vibe passes as well. I haven't cruised in a long time so I was pretty confused when checking in for my cruise. Everything from 9:30am - 2:00pm is listed as available for "arrival time." Is it best to board early? Do you get put on the ship first? Thanks, everyone!

I arrived at terminal B in Miami two weeks ago at 9:35 am and there was already a long line outside the terminal. A port employee was checking e-docs though I don't know if he cared what time they said (I had 9:30-10 check-in). I got boarding group 4. I'm silver, unless you are platinum or higher your latitudes level doesn't matter.
Rare BirdTravels Posted March 26, 2018 #11 Share Posted March 26, 2018 What is NCL new boarding policy? Starting February 2017, NCL expanded the Priority Boarding to Latitudes members. Now, Haven/Suites board first. Followed by Casino Guests in NYC (only). Followed by Ambassador, Platinum Plus, and Platinum guests. Then general boarding starts with Boarding Group 1. So, a large number of guests will board before general boarding starts,,,, and before general boarders can make the dash to get vibe passes. mickeychicky Posted March 26, 2018 #12 Share Posted March 26, 2018 Never heard of this boarding policy. And can someone who has left out of Miami tell me which terminal we are supposed to actually go to A or B? And is the parking garage close enough to roll our luggage with us to the terminal or do we drive thru and drop it first?

mickeychicky Posted March 26, 2018 #14 Share Posted March 26, 2018 Escape is B or C and it's on your cruise docs. Check to make sure. We're on Getaway. Just wondering which one or will the terminal be specific on the check in docs?
Mistizoom Posted March 28, 2018 #15 Share Posted March 28, 2018 We're on Getaway. Just wondering which one or will the terminal be specific on the check in docs? The terminal will be on the edocs. They are right next to each other. On Escape odd decks were terminal B and even decks terminal C. Not sure if Getaway is the same.

Gistfamily Posted March 28, 2018 #18 Share Posted March 28, 2018 I was on this same cruise last year a week earlier. I was group 28 or something like that. never heard our group called but I just went strait to guest services there was a man standing there with the bracelets in hand and i asked for 2 then i went to the counter to pay for them, No problem. He seemed to have plenty. It was very nice and not crowded at all when I was there but I didn't use it as much as I thought I would. Still thinking about trying this time. i am also on the April 8th sailing. the Bartender in vibe was fantastic and service was very prompt. pollux Posted March 28, 2018 #21 Share Posted March 28, 2018 I still don't understand Vib passes. But everyone will get on board don't worry. Passes or vip 's something will go wrong and everyone get on when the Captain give the orders. :D

Two Wheels Only Posted March 28, 2018 #25 Share Posted March 28, 2018 This post hurts my brain. Out of morbid curiosity, I actually tried to understand that post. The person seems to have VIBE confused with priority boarding.
