bdam Posted March 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2018 Forgive my ignorance if this is a normal practice but I'm looking to book a cruise on the Pride in September and the price jumps from $379 to $569 per person when going from 4 people in a room to 2. So if my GF and I wanted to book a room for just the 2 of us it would cost us $569 but if we had a group of 4 it would be $379. Is this a glitch on the Carnival website or is this just the way the deal works?
lizardhowson Posted March 28, 2018 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2018 The prices quoted are the average price when 4 people book: first 2 at regular price, 2nd 2 at reduced price. So when you total the 4 fares, then divide by 4 it yields a lower average price. Work thru a mock booking for the cabin with 2 and then 4 occupants, you will see the first 2 fares are the same either way.
ParrotRob Posted March 28, 2018 #3 Share Posted March 28, 2018 Two people are $1138 ($569pp) Four people are $1516 ($379pp) In reality, the four person fare is $569 for each of the first two, and $189 each for persons 3 and 4.
