"Yeah, we saw that on video"

My last cruise I was winning quite a lot at the BJ table, best visit to a casino ever actually. Next day the Casino Host saw me at the poker table and asked how I was doing. I told her that I won a lot the night before so I was doing great. She knew that already, "yeah, we saw that on video".

Does that mean that they reviewed my play to see if I was cheating? They can't possibly review every video. They had automatic shuffling machines, so counting would have been useless. I cannot think of any other reason to review the video besides thinking I was stealing chips or bribing the dealer.

Anyway, while I know that there are cameras all around the ship and even more in the Casino, I'm not sure I liked that remark.

The "yeah, we saw that on video" could simply mean your excellent play (and luck) was noticed in the back room on the monitor while you were playing (think real time video feed). Not necessarily someone took the effort to go back and review the saved video of your play. Some casino workers actually enjoy seeing table players where the player makes the right decision and wins. They are also gamblers at heart (and in some cases gamble on their time off), so if you are noted to on a winning streak they just might take a couple minutes to watch a monitor just for the heck of it.

Ah, by "on video" I understood they reviewed the "tape". Thank you. If there wouldn't be a million rules against it, I would have liked a copy of that video, too.. :D

I knew at least some dealers gamble themselves, one asked a lot about the rules in the casino in Amsterdam. He apparently couldn't wait to be good side of the table.:D
