maynovmom Posted April 1, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2018 In the past I’ve booked cruises for the following year while onboard. By doing so I would receive an onboard credit for the new booking. I know that this practice was going to end. Is anyone on the Sunshine currently that can let me know? I will be cruising in two weeks and know what cruise I’d like to book for next year. I’ve received a casino offer which goes til the end of this month and of course there’s my usual go-to early saver but I don’t want to miss the onboard credit opportunity as well if I can grab it while sailing on the Sunshine. Thanks!
mnp75 Posted April 1, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2018 I just finished a cruise on the Magic. They give you 2 weeks after your cruise to book something else and receive the OBC/reduced deposit. You should get the email a day or 2 after your cruise.
mishka422 Posted April 1, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2018 They did away with the onboard credit offer for future bookings fleet wide. Bummer. Sent from my SM-G925V using Forums mobile app
Micahs Grandad Posted April 1, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2018 And what they give you now is less than what they used to. It is better though to book after you get back.
Kimmym29 Posted April 2, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 2, 2018 Just got off Sunshine last week and yesterday booked a future cruise with a reduced deposit and 100 OBC because we booked within 2 weeks after sailing. This was an offer we received in an email the day we got back from Sunshine. I did ask onboard about a future cruise deal and they told me the same deal is available online for a few weeks after cruising. Guess that’s the one I got! salty dingo Posted April 2, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 2, 2018 On a cruise, you are in vacation mode. Relaxed with defenses down. Not a great time to be making a costly purchase. I would just hit up a sale with a good cruise TA, probably get a better deal.
Micahs Grandad Posted April 2, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 2, 2018 Also the future cruise consultants often knew less than knowledgeable people on here

We got off the Breeze on March 25, and I booked our next cruise yesterday with the offer Carnival emailed me post-cruise. It is the best deal across the board right now, with reduced deposit and OBC. maynovmom Posted April 3, 2018 Author #9 Share Posted April 3, 2018 Thanks everyone. I will definitely wait until I come home. I only did it on the ship for the onboard credit. If I can get a deal on that when I’m home I’d prefer that. One less hassle while I’m on vacation!
