Can someone explain to me: difference between Premier, premier getaway....I am supposedly on a "premier" cruise. What does this mean for someone who didn't book this cruise as "premier" booking....I find very confusing....is the casino going to be ridiculously crowded. Someone said you will be lucky if you can even get a slot machine. Or would they be talking about the 3-4 day premier getaway casino....ugh

Premier cruises are cruises where avid gamblers get cheap offers for rooms and other benefit. So there is likely a substantial amount of gamblers on the cruise and the casino will be more crowded. Premier getaway is the same thing just shorter cruises.

For the premier cruses, there is a limit of 100 cabins for the offer.

We’ve been on 4 of them and they are awesome.

Not really that much more crowded plus they have events only for the premier cruisers.

And free drinks in the casino!!!!

If you did not actually book a Premier, none of the activities described will be available to you. The casino will be crowded. There will be coffee, juice and pastries in the am available to anyone.

I see a new round of premier and premier getaway appeared online today. Check your offers online if you're interested. The premier offer says it has a book-by date of April 23rd, and the premier getaway offers show a book-by date of May 23rd. The offer details shows they have a non-refundable $99 deposit. I see sail dates going into mid-November.

Question for the Premier vets... I have a cruise in July already booked under a different code but it just showed up in my Premier offers. The difference in price is almost the same as the Casino Cash I would be getting so pretty much a wash on that. My question: Are the other benefits worth enough to make the switch? I have another Premier already booked for September, but I have not done any previously. I will also already be getting the DOU card on day 1 based on previous play. Opinions??

So if I got this right you have booked under a casino offer (not premier) and are getting casino cash and DOU card.

Now you have a premier offer which is a cheaper fair but you would lose the casino cash from previous booking, making it about even.

I'm going to assume you would be getting casino cash with the premier also.

If that's the case, I would change to the premier (cheaper rate and cash) plus you'd be able to get in on all the premier activities. Also, if someone else is cruising with you they would get the DOU card if not already.

I've gotten casino offers before, it saves a couple of dollars, but does not give you the DOU CARD....If I believe correctly...that's only with a PREMIER casino offer, please correct me if i am wrong

You get the DOU card on premier's or if you got 5000 points on your previous cruise.

Sorry for the confusion - Actually, my current offer is the Bounce Back so my current rate is $612 cheaper than the Premier rate, with the DOU card, but no casino cash. The Premier rate gives me $600 casino cash, the DOU card and the rest of the premier perks. So my question is should I pay the $612 extra to switch to the premier, with the casino cash it would work out to be $12 more to change. Also, I currently have $100 OBC which I would lose, and the DOU card which I would retain.

Just trying to work out if the other premier perks are worth the $112 it would cost me to switch?? Does that make sense?

Got it. In my opinion since the cruise you are already booked on is a premier I'd switch (almost a wash) to the premier offer so you can get in on the drawings and get the free stuff they give out. Might as well get in on the fun!

i have been on .. drumroll.. 17 premier cruises

i have been on 4 premier getaway cruises

Here is how they all work

Premier and Premier getaway no difference except for length of cruise, premier getaway is normally 5 nights or shorter, anything longer than that is regular premier not getaway.

When you board, on either, the first day there will be a welcome cocktail party, for only the premier guests. Keep in mind, nothing is different here, other than the length.

The cocktail party has free drinks and finger foods, for the invite only premier guests...

there will also be an explanation of what is happening during the week, and at the end, they draw the first snowball draw for cash.

Ok ... when you board the ship..

in thh room you will have a black bag, in it will be welcome gifts ( usually 2 tumblers of some sort, or journals, one time we received slippers, but 90 % of time its some sort of drinking tumbler

also in the bag you will find your drink on us cards for the first two people in your cabin ( if more than two, the first two only will receive the drink cards, so pay attention to the order of guests on your booking, you can call and they will rearrange if necessary)

you also will have two cards on a piece of cardboard( for a game later in the week) and finally, a schedule for all premier activities throughout the week.

Only those on the premier invite gets to play in the premier activities.

there are usually 100 staterooms, wth one guest each.

thats max, often less than that

The games will be matilda the cash cow, tower of cash, cash pong, fill my bag etc.

In order to play these games, your name has to be drawn from a drum which contains all names of premier players and their guests only. Once drawn for a game, your name goes back in the drum, and you can be drawn again, and again, and again

These games are different from the draws. There are two types of draws the snowball cash draw, and fireball raffle draw.

The snowball draw happens each day, and is drawn from that same drum. If you are there you claim the cash prize, if not, it is added to tomorrows, and the pot grows.

the fireball draw is electronic, dont use the drum, you get one electronic entry for each 100 points you earn on slots ( not sure about tables i dont play them)

prizes again, are cash and happens every day.

Towards the end of the week, every premier who has 2000 points or more has free entry into a premier only slot tourney, which prize is usually 500.00 and 2nd 3rd 4th up to 8th place gets some cash, and usually a tshirt or towel.

Finally, in addition to these activities, you will receive gifts in your room. Everyone receives chocolate covered strawberries, bottle of champage, a box of home backed cookies, and on last or second to last night, larger gift, which has been blanket, travel sets consisting of passport holder and luggage tag, with key chain and pen, one in red and one in black, we have received wooden boxes with two packs playing cards, dice game and pen. Each playing card has picture name and info about casino host or hostess,, many different gifts at end, you could receive anything, laptop bags, travel or beach bags, anything.

You will also receive casino cash or play... usually.

Hope this helps

Leaving on a b2b Glory for another two premiers April 14 and 21 on Glory

Thanks so much..  Is the snowball and the fireball draw only once a day?  Also do you have a schedule for all premier activities Thanks so much

I cruised last Sept and got over 7500 points in the casino.  I was not offered any bounce back but in November I did start to get VIFP offers for premier cruises.  Timing did not work out and by Jan they were removed.  I have looked at my account everyday since and no more have shown up.  Anyone else not getting any offers?  I get RCCL casino offers all the time and have used many.

Thanks so much for this detailed review of Premier cruises.  We have been booked with a Casino Offer since 4/2018.  We recently received the Premier Casino Offer & the 14-day Partial Panama Canal cruise was on the list so we were able to switch to that offer.  Looking forward to it.
