LongHill44 Posted April 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2018 And what is your favorite meal in the MDR that is served every night if you don't care for their selections of the day? Thanks
Rare MeganGC1983 Posted April 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2018 The pork chop, as long as it's not overdone, is good. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
A&Jfamily Posted April 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2018 Indian Vegetarian, hands down. It is different each night, with different rice, and 3 ramekins of dishes, one of which is a lentil. Consistently excellent.
SanFranCruzer Posted April 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2018 none- it is all "banquet prepared" food. plated in masses and then brought to the table. nothing is cooked to order. if you order the "steak house" selections they are cooked to order but by the banquet kitchen and they microwave (even good meat) it was terrible!!!! Just spend the $$$and go to the steakhouse instead. Way better!!!! Just back from a 7 day on carnival-
asalligo Posted April 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 11, 2018 None at all. The everyday menu is a waste of my time. I would rather eat in the buffet.
teknoge3k Posted April 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 11, 2018 I always order the same thing every night. The flat iron sirloin cooked well with 2 appetizers of shrimp cocktail. Followed by Warm Chocolate Melting Cake. I'm simple.

crusing48/51 Posted April 11, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 11, 2018 Bacon Mac and cheese x 2 and the steamed vegetables. I don't care for the chocolate melting cake, I order bitter and blanc every night they let me. Love that stuff!!

Our last MDR experience was so subpar and mediocre we have about decided to do just that, budget specialty dining for each night. I use to love the first elegant night menu but this past time the "prime rib" and lobster were tough as shoe leather. First time I ever asked for a replacement and it wasnt any better. I wound up eating pizza.
RenoNanaOz Posted April 11, 2018 #10 Share Posted April 11, 2018 I agree about the Indian Food, always good and I really enjoy most of the Soup (hot not a fan of the cold ones).
karlasioux Posted April 11, 2018 #11 Share Posted April 11, 2018 My go-to when they don't have something interesting (which is often here lately as I've tried most of it and already know it's not good) is the Caesar salad, Shrimp cocktail (or 2 if using as an entrée), Flat iron steak (if not having 2 shrimps) and WCMC. Oh, and the soups. Hot or cold. They are pretty much all good.
andie717 Posted April 11, 2018 #12 Share Posted April 11, 2018 And what is your favorite meal in the MDR that is served every night if you don't care for their selections of the day? Thanks The simple pork chop my daughter ordered was surprisingly good!
sprath Posted April 11, 2018 #13 Share Posted April 11, 2018 The Indian vegetarian meal for me. I like to get the grilled chicken also to add some protein.

winddawn Posted April 11, 2018 #15 Share Posted April 11, 2018 I always order the same thing every night. The flat iron sirloin cooked well with 2 appetizers of shrimp cocktail. Followed by Warm Chocolate Melting Cake. I'm simple. I'm not a steak expert, but I was under the impression that flat iron steak is not a sirloin. My experience with the flat iron steak in the MDR is that the quality is hit or miss. It is a flavorful cut of beef, but it is not a consistently tender cut of beef. I've found sometimes it is very tough. I agree the shrimp cocktail is great!

You're correct, it is from the shoulder. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flat_iron_steak
