vivianmarie244 Posted April 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2018 I'm really wanting to try out one of the aft corner cabins but it looks like it will only let me book for three. Is that correct? Or can I call to a travel agent to get it booked? I don't normally use a travel agent but am willing if I get to try one of these rooms.

Travel agent would have the same restriction.
vivianmarie244 Posted April 16, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted April 16, 2018 If I book three people but cancel one close to final payment, will they move us? I can rearrange our group to make it work but I'd prefer to keep it to just me and DH in one room this time.

I would confirm with RC, but in the past, you could cancel the 3rd person up to 14 days before the cruise for a full refund.

setsail Posted April 16, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 16, 2018 Just call Royal. We have booked 7708 with 2 people, no problem at all. One of the largest balconies on the ship with rear and side views. Of course for a cruise that has not happened there is no way to predict the answer, so call.

Yes, on liberty but awhile back but after they started cracking down on 2 booking a cabin that holds 3, I was surprised that we got it with no problems Edited April 16, 2018 by setsail

I even called several times and spoke with different reps. They all said no. [emoji22] Next time I think I’ll call every day. Maybe they’ll give it to me to shut me up. vivianmarie244 Posted April 16, 2018 Author #12 Share Posted April 16, 2018 Called Royal and no luck. :loudcry::loudcry: DH doesn't even want to take a chance on missing out on having a room to ourselves so I didn't even bother to ask about cancelling a third person. He thinks we'll get moved to an interior room with the kind of luck we have. I guess we'll go back to our regular balcony. Still cruising so all's good! Perki Posted April 16, 2018 #13 Share Posted April 16, 2018 We have an aft Jr Suite on Liberty, room 7714, coming up, and it doesn't have a pull down bed but the sofa is a sofa bed, and we were able to book for just 2adults. Might be due to the time of year (we will be after spring break but before summer, so way fewer families traveling) or possibly they allow for certain Crown&Anchor level members or higher? I am guessing though it might be time of year - summer or holidays they want to have as many paid people as possible so may require 3 people if there are 3 beds. Sorry about that, it's a bummer when you can't get the room you want
Rare Familygoboston Posted April 16, 2018 #14 Share Posted April 16, 2018 We had three booked in that room (opposite corner actually) and then my daughter couldn’t go, they offered to refund her fare and move us to a double occupancy cabin before final payment, I didn’t want to lose the cabin, so we paid final payment for 3 and she didn’t show up, so we sailed without her, no refund, but stayed in the cabin. Still less than a Jr Suite, better balcony!
ATC cruiser Posted April 16, 2018 #15 Share Posted April 16, 2018 (edited) You could book it with a third person that just doesn’t show up. Yes, you’ll pay for it, but if you’ve ever seen that balcony it’s worth it.That’s what I’m doing next year on Freedom. Clarea Posted April 17, 2018 #17 Share Posted April 17, 2018 If you cancel the third person on the 14th or 15th day before sailing, would they still move you? That's so close to the cruise, I think it's highly unlikely they would move someone, but it's possible.

And that slim possibility is why my DH doesn't even want to try. Obviously, we don't spend much time in the casino. He's definitely not a gambler. ;p
