JohninDC Posted April 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 20, 2018 I don't recall this being discussed previously on this board - you might post your question on the MSC board. Good luck!

TIA Cannot find a description of the tour, so difficult to know where it goes? I haven’t been to either but perhaps it is at one of the following: http://www.kunchepark.com/en/services/ https://www.facebook.com/pueblodelmaiz/ If you knew where it went you may get reviews from people from different cruise lines, or may be able to arrange to go independently? Kizzabel Posted April 23, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted April 23, 2018 Hi - apologies, I should have C&P'd the info: This is taken from the MSC information on excursions: Discover the history and culture of the Mayan people during a visit to a traditional Mayan Village, then see the natural beauty of Cozumel as you circle the island aboard your comfortable air-conditioned motor coach. You’ll be travelling across the island in an easterly direction to savour stunning views of the island’s untouched coastline. Cozumel has long been home to the Mayan people, dating back over 1,000 years when it was an important stop in the ancient trade routes as well as the center of worship for the Goddess of Fertility, Ixchel. Descendants of these first inhabitants have populated the island since then, and many of their ancient traditions remain strong even today. During your visit to the Mayan Village you will see traditional, thatched-roof Mayan houses, medicinal gardens, cooking techniques, and ceremonies as well as learn about the myths, histories and beliefs of the Mayan World. After your tour of the village, you will travel across the island to town for the folkloric show. The performance showcases Mexico's regional diversity and history – from tribal drumming to mariachi bands, indigenous rituals and romantic ballads. After the exciting show, you’ll also have time to shop for Mexican arts and crafts, perfume, leather goods, jewellery, cigars and alcoholic beverages. The tour then wraps up either with your direct return transfer to the pier or with you remaining in town for some more retail therapy. Please note: guests remaining in town are responsible for their own return to the pier. Guests will be required to sign a waiver which may only be available in English.
