ROBERTEVANOVER Posted April 25, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 25, 2018 What kind of temps can I expect crossing to Hawaii and return from San Diego February 3-20? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
RMLincoln Posted April 25, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2018 Not sure where you are from to compare what cold means... The first two days out of San Diego and the last two days coming back into San Diego will be cool, long pants and jackets weather. The rest of the trip will be more tropical. We saw some very unhappy people walking around in shorts and tank tops the first morning out, but then again there are some people who wear shorts, boots and tall socks all year, such as in Seattle. I have the dailies but I don't trust their data so I can't give you temperatures. Depending on where you are traveling from, you may be arriving in San Diego in clothes for cool weather so keep them handy. That's a very nice time of year for a trip to Hawaii, I think the heavy rains don't start until March. But even in the rain Hawaii is beautiful. Enjoy, m--
Fairfield Nana Posted April 25, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 25, 2018 Just returned from a week renting a beach home on the north shore of Kauai--beautiful Hanalei. Rained extremely often and hard, one of the wettest springs they have had in a long time. I think it was still raining and a couple degrees cooler most of last week. Still, a beautiful place to visit!!
ROBERTEVANOVER Posted April 25, 2018 Author #4 Share Posted April 25, 2018 Good point, we are from Florida. Definitely prefer on deck temps around 72-80. Guess that is not the norm in February for this crossing? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
ROBERTEVANOVER Posted April 25, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted April 25, 2018 Still processing this / if only two days on each side of SD required light jacket I could survive [emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Forums
westcoastcruiser Posted April 25, 2018 #6 Share Posted April 25, 2018 We have cruised from San Diego a couple of times and RMLincoln is spot on. Cool the beginning of trip and then warmed up nicely. Wonderful cruise!
SD_Traveler Posted April 25, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 25, 2018 I have lived in San Diego for the past 40 years. Typical temperature in Feb is upper 50’s, occasionally lower 60’s. Often overcast, sometimes rain. Warmer days are the exception not the norm. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
