jwjax Posted May 9, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2018 We usually there in the Spring and Fall. Even then it is hot. Here's a link to the July temps. https://beach-weather.com/Caribbean/Bahamas/Cat-Island/averages/Half-Moon-Cay/July/
firefly333 Posted May 9, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2018 99% of the time it would be too hot for me in the afternoons. Plan on the beach and tours in the a.m. if you can? I lived in Boca Raton which is like 50 some miles from the Bahamas, where 2 of the ports you mentioned are located. There is a reason Boca has a lot of winter birds ... the summer is hot and humid. Its the humidy that gets to me. If you are in the water its ok. but i burn the bottom of my feet getting in the water to just walk so my feet are in the water. Probably some will say the humidity doesnt bother them, but it would me. And I lived on the beach in Boca. I will say the trade winds near the ocean make it cooler by the ocean than inland. pusywillow Posted May 9, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2018 It was unbearable to me, but I hate to be that hot. Better to go in the winter IMO.
salty dingo Posted May 9, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 9, 2018 I can't get too hot on a cruise. I hate the cold, however!
Havingfun2010 Posted May 9, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Anyone cruise there during July? Thoughts? Well, I live in Florida, and the temperature is the same as on those islands. But I see you live in NY. So how do you feel about 90 - 93 degree days every day? I love it. But I also think 60 degrees is freezing.
Rare mizLORInj Posted May 9, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 9, 2018 I'd go to HMC in heat or not. It's that beautiful. Go in the water to get refreshed.
Micahs Grandad Posted May 9, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 9, 2018 We do go early in the morning and back on the ship lunch time on GT or early afternoon HMC. Lots of shady spots on HMC.
MBP1 Posted May 9, 2018 #9 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Depends on where you are from. I lived in South FL for 25 years and now live in Texas, the heat of the Carribean will be a nice break from the 100+ summer days here in Austin.
coevan Posted May 9, 2018 #10 Share Posted May 9, 2018 Technically, none of the mentioned islands are in the Caribbean. Turks, is close, but the Bahamas are not in the Caribbean
ricew001 Posted May 9, 2018 #11 Share Posted May 9, 2018 We were in Key West last year in August and it was hot, sunny and muggy. I've lived in North Carolina all my life where this weekend in early May it is supposed to be 90. I was miserable in August in Key West. Our next stop was Cozumel and we stayed in the water the whole day.
linzlovestocruise Posted May 9, 2018 #12 Share Posted May 9, 2018 In my opinion, nothing a little water can't fix!!!! After our January cruise this year where it rained and was COLD (like sweatshirt and jeans cold) everyday but one I am sure I would never complain about heat or sun :)
jordanaire Posted May 13, 2018 #13 Share Posted May 13, 2018 July in the Caribbean is HOT no matter where you go. Just plan on plenty of sunscreen and a hat. Best to visit beaches in the morning. JT1962 Posted May 14, 2018 #14 Share Posted May 14, 2018 The humidity is the main issue for most. A lot depends on what you are used to. If you live in the South, then you probably won’t notice much difference than July / August 90+ degrees with high humidity.
