LongHill44 Posted May 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2018 Seems some are complaining of weak mixed drinks, can I order my weak drink, wait 5 minutes and order a separate shot and pour it into my mixed drink? And would it be rude or smart, or both, to add that shot into my drink in front of the bartender who made the weak drink? Maybe he/she will get the hint? hftmrock Posted May 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2018 you can do that with no problem even in front of them it most likely wont make any difference to the bartender as for your thread title, you can order single shots with cheers but not double
salty dingo Posted May 20, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2018 There should be no "weak" drinks. There is a standard measure for liquor and you should never get less, but you could get more.
Rare Super27 Posted May 20, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 20, 2018 The only place we thought the drinks were "weak" was the Tides Bar on Breeze. All the bars use a jigger for a standard pour, so in theory the drinks should never be weak, but they were making the drinks in a hurry and not really filling up the jigger. Our favorite bartender at the Breeze Bar did tell us that the frozen drinks don't have as much alcohol for the size of the drink, and she even suggested getting an extra shot to go in it. We didn't even have to ask - 5 minutes after the drink was served, she brought over a shot that she had recommended. So, to answer your questions, YES you can do an extra shot on Cheers (after 5 minutes), no you cannot do a double, and no, I wouldn't worry about doing it in front of the bartender, it was encouraged multiple times by the bartenders themselves. jdoc2010 Posted May 20, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 20, 2018 Ive ordered a shot first, didnt drink it and then ordered my mix drink after 5 mins. Doing it in this order should result in atleast one of the following: 1. Your mixed drink wont get watered down while waiting. 2. You wont be tempted to drink your mix drink while waiting for the extra shot. 3. The bartender will figure it out amd ask what mixed drink you are waiting the 5mins for and start making it, give in and slide it over to you while he takes his time entering in your folio number into the system. cruisemein Posted May 20, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 20, 2018 I have found that good tipping equals stronger drinks,,,,this means that a lot of times you will need to go to the same bartender each time. Best to figure out which bars you are most likely to go to and tip a particular bartender generously and keep returning. Same thing in the event you have a DOU card for the casino, pick out a couple of waiters and tip them generously on your original drink, after that that if they see you in the casino, hanging around the bar or just looking for a table to sit at, they will be more than happy to get you a drink, playing or not playing...they know what;s going on, but as long as they are being tipped they don't care. The only problem in the casino is your drink will be a regular one shot drink and not that extra pour as the bartender has no idea who he is making the drink for.
