Sandi07054 Posted May 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 20, 2018 i received an email that we can drop off luggage at 11 but can’t check in till 1 pm? I always thought we could get on at 11 but just not in our cabin because they might not be ready.
Kamloops50 Posted May 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 20, 2018 Don’t worry about the time. They don’t seem to be enforcing it. Sent from my iPad using Forums
paul929207 Posted May 20, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 20, 2018 That is a suggestion, not a mandate from Princess
dfields1814 Posted May 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 21, 2018 We arrive at the San Pedro terminal around 11:15. Depending on your princess status you may have to wait 30 to 60 minutes, but more likely closer to 30 to 40 minutes. If youa re elite you go first. We board with the non elite and are in are cabin usually shortly after noon.
JF - retired RRT Posted May 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted May 21, 2018 The only they enforce a late boarding time is when there's an inspection or deep cleaning. You'll get a completely different notice if that happens. The one you got is sent to everyone several weeks before the cruise. The "special" notice is sent one or two days before sailing. wheezedr Posted May 21, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 21, 2018 I would still arrive at 11:00 as you originally planned. You should board and have lunch .
Quacker Posted May 21, 2018 #7 Share Posted May 21, 2018 We did the Emerald from SanPedro and we got a notice that it would be late boarding. Our Baja deck was to be the first at 2 o'clock. My wife has wheel chair assist so we arrived at 1 o'clock. There were already hundreds of people in the wheel chair area. It didn't matter that we were to be first to board plus being Elite. We arrived at our cabin at 3:45 just in time to go to the safety drill. Of course no food or water available to us during that 2 hr. 45 min. wait. Our travel friends were on and at lunch by 1:30. So we learned our lesson and will go at our usual time of 11 am on our next cruise.
ericopia Posted May 29, 2018 #8 Share Posted May 29, 2018 On Ruby last week, we boarded easily at noon, but they were not allowing pax to go to cabins (fire doors all closed) until closer to 1p. We also boarded aft, and were forced onto elevators to the buffet. Took a while to find our way around barriers to get midship, and then find which dining room was open, as we couldn't get to the cabin to see which location was listed as open in the Patter. They were working so hard to ensure everyone went to the buffet, that the main dining room was completely empty of passengers but fully staffed. For some reason that seems to be the new routine on Princess. Somehow last cruise we managed to get to our cabin (still not ready) & dropped off our bags. Later at the buffet I noticed many people wheeling their luggage around & wondered why.
