Zakkary Posted June 2, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 2, 2018 Hi, Does the MSC Divina dock at Manhattan in New York in March? First time cruiser on her. Many thanks, Zakkary.
Rare Hlitner Posted June 2, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 2, 2018 The ship is scheduled to overnight in NYC on March 17-18. There are 3 different docking location in the NYC area which include the Manhattan Cruise Terminal located along 12th Avenue (near 49th Street), the Red Hook Terminal which is located in Brooklyn, and the Bayonne Cruise facility located across the water in New Jersey. The latter is primarily used by RCI ships (including Celebrity and Azamara). I would make an educated guess that the Divina will either be docked in Manhattan or at Red Hook. From the point of view of cruisers, the Manhattan Cruise Terminal is certainly the most convenient location. Hank
Capricruiser Posted June 3, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 3, 2018 On March 11th (2018) we docked at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal across from E 48th Street.
Rare Beamafar Posted June 3, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 3, 2018 On March 11th (2018) we docked at the Manhattan Cruise Terminal across from E 48th Street. Hopefully Meraviglia will dock there, too. It would be good to know for booking pre-cruise hotels.
Rare Hlitner Posted June 3, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 3, 2018 Hopefully Meraviglia will dock there, too. It would be good to know for booking pre-cruise hotels. My suggestion (for most) would be to book a NYC Hotel that meets your budget and wants and is in a good location for visiting NYC. Do not be concerned about which port. Our reason is that neither port is in the best neighborhood for visiting the city and its easy to get to either port via a taxi, Uber, or even a "Black Car." Those of us who know and love NYC could recommend dozens of hotels in several neighborhoods. Since NYC Hotels tend to be pricey, that is often a driving criteria for many folks. Rare Beamafar Posted June 3, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 3, 2018 Thanks for that, Hank. We've never been to New York so are a bit daunted about choosing an hotel and the cost of a taxi to the port.
riclop Posted June 3, 2018 #7 Share Posted June 3, 2018 Nothing is reasonable as far as hotels go in NYC.
